CygnusX-1
Mine was a '06 WTKS from barrel no. 67 on rick 30 in wherehouse D. I purchased it about a month ago and choose it because it was the oldest one they had (the rest were '07s).
Special Reserve
The first bottle I recall bunkering, that is not opening within a few days of purchase, was a PVW15. I received my annual review and it was very good so I wanted to treat myself to something nice.Welcome to SB.Will

Klepackage
After trying a Stagg and then Handy, I went back and picked up 2 08 Staggs and a Handy to start the bunker. I'll probably add a few more too.

ILLfarmboy
First bottle that I really considered "bunkered" was a WTRB. That is if you don't count just buying an extra bottle of this or that. That was before joining SB.com so I didn't even use the term bunker.
ggilbertva
Not entirely sure but most likely Lot B.
Squash
WLW 08.When I started seriously tasting bourbons in December 2008, WLW 08 was the first one that really impressed me. It had wow-factor, if you will.He was the first bunker member. He now has friends of different creeds and colors.
barturtle
Either a Knob Creek Single Barrel, that the place I worked for did or a A.H.Hirsch 20yo...I bought the Hirsch on Feb 14th 2000, don't remember exactly when the KCSB showed up...I may have actually had that back in 1998, but don't recall for sure...but I do still have them both. ThomasH
Mine was a case of WTRR101. After that it was a few bottles of Hancocks Reserve that were 27.99 a Liquor Barn!Thomas
fishnbowljoe
Mine was ERSB 10/90. I really liked this bourbon from the start, and always had a bottle or two around. When I had the chance to get four bottles at a very good price, from a store that was going out of business, I snapped them up. Voila! My bunker was born. I currently have two open, four in the bunker, and one on the way. Among the bottles I have had, are specialty bottlings from Julio's, Binny's, & Otto's. The bottle I have on the way is Julio's Angel's Share. Joe
T47
Three WTRR 101's after finding this site and getting the information that it would no longer be available. I still have a couple of them up there behind many others...I never imagined my shelf would look like that!
OscarV
I got very lucky when I started to get serious about bourbon.I got an A H Hirsch 20yo at a store here in Jackson for $120.00, three years ago.It is still bunkered.
Special Reserve
Cygnus,This is a great initial post.I'm really enjoying this thread. After rereading this, I should add my bunker was started on 12-30-04.Will
funknik
This is a great thread! My first score for the bunker was a pair of Wild Turkey Rare Breed 1996s & a BHC VSOF -- then the floodgates blew wide open after that.
WsmataU
Well, my very first was a 1993 Maker's blue wax (only for collection purposes). The one I bought for drinking at some point in the future was a Michters single Barrell, since I still have yet to find a Hirsch blue wax.
spun_cookie
Wine woukd have been the early 90s with Chetue St Jean's later harvest wines.Spirit was Pyrate rum for $15 in the christmas box release in 2006 when the going rate was $35.Bourbon was the Weller when it was ~$25 a bottle and the going rate in CA & AZ was $45. callmeox
My first purchase solely aimed at placement in the bunker was a trio of WTRR101. I had other items set aside as backups for open bottles, but these were destined for long term storage.
cubacroc
1st burbon pruchase and 1st addition to the bunker.Cliff ( Barrel_Proof ) and the members of the Single Barrel Society helped me select a 14 yr old barrel of Stitzel Weller bourbon distilled on the last day of production. BT bottled the bourbon as Weller 12 yr old 90 proof. Thanks again for the help from Cliff and the members of the Single Barrel Society. Thanks to Mark Brown for making this barrel purchase possible. MissingKY
I found a bunch of boxed BHC bottles a few years ago, so I loaded up on them for the bunker. It turned out OCPR is one of my favorite whiskeys, so now I'm always on a search for it.
gothbat
Mine was a fall 2005 GTS. I was actually on my way home from the liquor store when I decided to buy it and had to stop at an ATM and go back. :]
