funknik
Ok, this is interesting, I certainly did forget some key players, but most of those are not available here & some are way differently priced from what I can gather....Let's see....Dickel No.12 . . . $13.99Elijah Craig 12 . . . $18.99Wild Turkey 101 . . . $19.99Sazerac Rye (like I mentioned) . . . $24.99Maker's Mark (missed this one completely) . . . $25.99Bulleit . . . $27.99Evan Williams Single Barrel . . . $27.99Eagle Rare 10/90 . . . $27.991792 . . . $28.99 (I've seen this for as little as $16.99 in NH, though)WT Russell's Reserve . . . $28.99Knob Creek . . . $29.99Woodford Reserve . . . $32.99Basil Hayden . . . $36.99I was also sort of not considering 1792, KC, etc....because they were so close to $30, but they do fall in that range. Still, I would say this is the most under-represented pricing category here and, like you, I would tend to buy the majority of my bottles from this range if they were available. (The dusties are another matter...I paid $28.99 for Centennial and $35.99 for OCPR, but those prices seem to very greatly depending on where you find 'em)

Luna56
I just pour whatever I have on hand. I don't really think about the price. I've never had more than five or six bottles in the cabinet at the same time, SMS included. I finish one, I go get another. If I had to pick just one for my everyday pour it'd probably be a middle of the road (pricewise) bourbon like ERSB or EC12. I've bought more ERSB than anything else at this point. My interest in bourbon and SMS is probably a lot more casual than most SB'ers' and I'm not an avid collector or historian. I love reading about all of it though and am slowly becoming enticed. It is truly fascinating and I'm impressed by the depth of knowledge here.Cheers! wskybnt
"Everyday pour" means if this was the only bourbon available could i afford to drink bourbon everyday? For some of us that could be white label Evan Williams, for some of us it could be pappy 20.... I got about 30 open bottles that I go to on any given day. But about 3 or 4 of them amount to about 70% of my bourbon drinking. WT 101OG BIBOF SignatureWeller Ant 107I would say 101 and OG BIB are the standard for everything I drink. How does it compare to those with price and taste....
Blitz
..... It's also the bourbon I reach for when I want to drink something, but I can't decide what. This is exactly how I would define it for me. Right now it's Knob Creek. I've mentioned in before, for some reason I can get it around here for $21-$22. If I lived in one of many other places and had to pay $30, I doubt it would qualify. DowntownD
some interesting and varied replies, speaks to individuality for sure.I only have four categories (for Bourbon, Rye, and all spirits really):----- haven't tried it (there are still quite a few in this group)- don't like it (MM, KC, JB, WT, WT101, EW, Blantons, Woodford Reserve, etc)- am ambivalent about it (EW SB, 4R anything, WT RB, ER SB, Weller SR, Bakers, etc)- love it (ETL, Pappy 15, ORVW 10/107, VWFRR, Baby Saz, BTAC, Weller 12, Bookers, etc)----I avoid the first category entirely; I'd rather not drink at all.I'll happily drink from the second category when offered one by a friend or I'm in a restaurant and have no other choices available. And nowadays I only buy/stock ones I love (the two exceptions being when I'm trying something new or giving something another chance). So when I reach for a drink from my bar, whether it be literally daily or whenever else (usually 100ml 3 days a week on average), I drink whatever strikes my mood with no regard to cost or ease of acquisition. docbible
An everyday pour for me is easy to obtain and one that I enjoy. This currently includes MM,VSOF 12, weller 12,weller sr, or ETL. After a really stressful day I reach for PVW or lot B. I have been known to over state my stress at least twice a week. tim
Eggman
Howdy,For me, "Daily pour" refers to affordability and drinkability-in that order. With that out of the way, these are my two most common in order of use:1. Jim Beam Black-great for my nightcap. I'll often reduce my Diet Coke to enjoy the char.2. Jim Beam White: Bring on the Diet Coke! I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll get white label if money's tight. My "git er done" Bourbon.EggmanPS: I drink my Bourbon with Diet Coke; usually mixed in equal amounts of 2. oz. Less Diet Coke with JBB.
independant
OGD I don't have a daily pour and I have favorites but I could go weeks and never sample from the same bottle. That being said OGD has always been there. You can always find it its cheap and best of all its good. So if I have to stockpile for some crazy reason all I would have for a daily pour would be OGD.
