It would be nice if new store clerks had some sort of get acquainted with Bourbon pamphlet.

Not really a pet peeve, but it does give me pause;

The member status descriptions underneath the screen names (Connoisseur, Guru, etc,).

I'd venture a guess that I've posted in PR&C at least as much as on the bourbon threads, most likely more. That doesn't make me a Connoisseur. I'd venture a guess that some other SB'ers qualify the same way, too.

Now I feel so guilty I'm gonna have to start drinking twice as much just to feel like I earned the title. ;)

Cheers!

Got to agree, number of posts sometimes just mean the poster has made a lot of posts.

Here, I'll demonstrate.

My pet peeve is pet peeves threads!

I think we have a winner here.

I've never really liked the shape of the wooden topper on WT RB. It is too easy to fumble once the cork is out of the bottle.

First peeve: The four most important pieces of information are almost never on the bottle:

DSP

Distilled date (if more than one distillation, then state and include the most recent distillation date)

Bottled date

Name of Master Distiller / Barrel Selecter

Second peeve: Change of mash bills on the same label. Sometimes the recipe changes but the name / brand does not. I should expect that they at least give it a different "lot" designation.

If I were king, I would make it so.

One of the only pet peeves I have is with store owners/managers. Ones that have no clue about what they're selling. I hate it when I can't even carry on an intelligent conversation. What about this bourbon? "I don't know, but if you buy case, 10% discount." Joe

Atilla, even a King could not fiat his way through this convoluted situation. You would wind up beheading all those recalcitrant Master Distillers and then where would we be.

The term "wee dram", when used on a bourbon site. Every time I hear/read this, I get the heebie-jeebies.

My pet peeve is people complaining about pet peeve threads. How's that?

This thread has officially gone "meta"

And it started out so interesting...

My pet peeve with the bourbon industry: no free refills! WTF? I bought the pretty bottle, now keep it full!

I also wish more products were available in 200 ml containers.
