How do you drink WL Weller 08? I tried it straight and with 2 parts bourbon 1 part water and all I taste is fire. No resembalance to Weller Cent. or Weller Antique as far as I can tell. Just hot alcohol. I have been enjoying my ER17 straight for over a week now and dont have the same issue. Do I have an impediment?

To answer your first question: neat... as about a 1 oz pour.... and I sip it very slowly.

Lets just say that is how I enjoyed my first couple pours and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I don't have my own bottle... yet. But I need a good bottle to celebrate the upcoming birth of baby kickert, and this one seems perfect.

Just tried it for the first time last week at Whiskyfest.

I had it neat and it was absolutely fabulous. It was the standout of the evening...head and shoulders above the others i tried (except for Handy).

Last night, I was drinking some Weller SR. I had just cracked my first bottle of the stuff and I was really impressed. I don't know why anyone drinks MM with that stuff available.

Anyhow, when I finished my Weller SR, I poured some WLW in the glass and kept it neat. I found that the SR really opened up my palate and allowed me to taste the bourbon as it is and ignore the heat.
