onmytrack
Back when one could pick up 2 bottles of PVW15 for the same price as 1 PVW 20, it was a no brainer to go with the PVW15. As specialty bourbon prices continue to go through roof, the gap has narrowed to the point where they are both special occasion pours. Still, I prefer the PVW15 over the PVW20, but I’d rather be drinking some GTS.Jim
unclebunk
To me, the 15 and the 20 are completely different animals. Ben's described the differences perfectly, IMO. I really like the 20, but I crave the 15. It may be the Best bourbon on the planet, IMHO.My sentiments exactly. I don't mind bourbon over fifteen years old (I like EC18 more than most here, for example, but that's another story) but I've always preferred the 15 to the 20 in terms of overall balance and sheer drinking enjoyment. I like so many different bourbons, but if I was stuck on a desert island and had to choose one, Pappy 15 would be it.
OscarV
I don't know how to put this but I'll try.I'm not a big fan of PVW 15 or 20.The 20 isn't very complex and the 15 is more dry than sweet.I prefer Old Rip VW 10/107 and VW Family Reserve Lot B.And that is regardless of the price factor. But, if you are pouring PVW 15 or 20, then I am happily drinking because I do like them, they are both very good. If not. When you make it down I will crack one. Hands down the best PVW 15 I have ever had... Like a julio's Weller Centennial but 2 years older and 7 proof points higher... Crazy good man...
