independant
It is sad to say but I think I am done buying bourbon for a while. I was looking at my bar last night and figure I have just enough to hold me. That and I am looking at what the fall releases will cost me. I plan on the following 2 bottles each of the 09 BTAC 3 bottles of OFBB one to drink on to bunker and one to drink with my son when he turns 21 1 bottle of Parkers heritage 3rd edition I figure all this will run me right at a grand. Time to start saving my pennies Is anyone else saving up for these?
ggilbertva
If I can get the BTAC in WV, I'll pick it up for $42 a bottle. I can't afford VA anymore at $72 a bottle. I haven't cared for the OFBB in the past so have no plans to pick up any of that and I already have the Parkers bunkered. Except for the occasional low cost pick-up, I don't purchase bourbon anymore. I'm satisfied with what I have and look forward to opening new bottles on a regular basis. Even though most of the dusty bottles I've picked up have been for a song, the bunker is full so it's time to enjoy.

fishnbowljoe
Me too. I swear. But............... Want a list? (in no particular order) #1. Someone has something to trade. #2. I have something to trade. #3. I find something dusty or semi-dusty. #4. I find something out of the ordinary. For me or some one else. (See #1 and #2) #5. Another bourbon becomes a hot topic, and I know a store that has some bottles of it. #6. I meet another member of SB. (Again see #1 and #2) #7. I meet yet another member of SB. I then go dusty hunting with my new friend. #8. I go to my favorite grocery store and stop in the liquor department just because. Wow! When did they start stocking this? #9. I go to my favorite grocery store and stop in the liquor department just because. Wow! I can't believe it's on sale for such a good price. #10. A friend says, "Guess what I found?" :skep: #11. A friend says, "Look what I found. This one's for you." #12. Another liquor store is going out of business and is having a final clearance sale. #13. I hear through friends or family that another bar manager has some stuff that's not selling, and wants to know if I want it at a good price. #14. The Bourbon Of The Month is one that I don't have, or haven't even tried yet. #15. Someone sends me a sample, and it's really good. :yum: #16. Another liquor store announces the arrival of their own single barrel bottling. ......and so on, and so on, and so on. It's never ending. But who needs an excuse? :slappin: It's as easy as quitting smoking. I've done it a half a dozen times.:bs: Joe

I pass on them and then kick my self in the ass because they were a few dollars more than usual.

p_elliott
I have no intention of quiting but I do have my plan for the BTAC: I was at the casino a couple of months back playing 4 card poker and drew 4, 4's 50 to 1 odds and that's how I'm paying for my BTAC this fall. I'm setting on the winnings of that hand of poker till September.

I would've spent that on beer for the summer (if my kids didn't get it first) and 2 must-have bottles (see below).I've slowed down quite a bit on the bourbon and rye but I've been buying more beer lately. I did see two bottles that I wanted last weekend while on a specific beer hunt in my favorite package store. I'm goin' back as soon as funds permit.
