Virginia Gentleman 90 availability

Does anyone know how widely VG90 is distributed, as opposed to the more common VG80? I've heard tell that VG90 is superior.

I've never actually had the 80, so I can't speak to the difference. But I like VG 90. If you're looking for complexity, or a life-altering experience, look elsewhere, but it's a nice everyday pour in a very nice bottle.

To the point of the thread, from what I understand it is available in KY, VA, DC, NC, WV, and in limited quantities elsewhere.

We can get the 90 proof for $70 AU (approx $52 US) here in Australia. After Chuck's comment, I'm glad it is the 90 and not the 80 as Iv'e been wanting to try this for some time now..... I might just have to order a bottle (don't tell the Wife :skep: )

Illegal, unless labeled diluted, as in a mysterious item on the MI liquor list called "Deuces Wild Old Style Diluted Bourbon"

Unfortunately, not likely. It's imported via a single retail specialty store three states away, and I doubt they'd have any 50ml minatures. Anyway, for Australia, the price is reasonable (it's on par with Bakers) :skep:

Not in Austrailia...I believe that 70 proof is the standard.

That's interesting, Cam. Baker's is about 25-30% higher priced, here.

FWI, I'd take the Baker's every time. Although, if you're looking for an example of one of the "sweetest" bourbons around, go with the Fox.

I don't see the 90 around much. Saw it a couple of weeks ago, in Bristol, VA. Kentucky, too. Besides that, not so much.
