cowdery
An interesting article from the Raleigh paper about the state-monopoly alcohol authority receiving recession-related discounts from producers and passing the savings on to consumers.I haven't noticed any recent price cuts at my free market liquor stores here in Illinois. Maybe socialized booze isn't so bad after all.
ThomasH
I was just up to Calabash, NC on Monday and it appears that the state of NC is turning some traditional state stores into agency stores run by private companies. The Calabash store used to be state staffed and loaded with bottles. It is now privately run by someone who doesn't know there ass fro a whole in the ground, in addition to having a reduced inventory and higher prices than the regular stores. It won't help NC to reduce prices on something that the consumer wants but the local store doesn't carry!Thomas
