I just found out my parents are stopping over in LA for 2 days before and after they go to Canada. What other stores apart from Bevmo and mission liquors are good for variety in LA? I intend on giving them a big shopping list.

Also keen to get some peychauds bitters from somewhere...

The LA area is very big Scott so it depends on how far they're willing to travel of course, but if they're in Orange County Hi Time Wine Cellar is a good one.

Are they flying in and renting a car for those two days?

As Christian noted, LA is a big area. The best two liquor stores are Wine & Liquor Depot (www.wineandliquordepot.com) and Hi Time Wine (www.hitimewine.net). Assuming they are coming into and staying near LAX, Wine and Liquor Depot is a bit closer (and has better prices). It is in Van Nuys which is about 30-40 minutes north of LAX, depending on traffic. Hi-Time Wine in Costa Mesa is about an hour or an hour and a half (depending on traffic) south of LAX. Both have excellent whiskey selections.

Mission is probably the next best after those two, but it's way out in outer Pasadena so unless they are staying in that area, I'd hit Wine & Liquor Depot instead.

If they want to stay closer to the airport area, there are decent, though not as thorough selections at Wine House (www.winehouse.com) and Beverage Warehouse (www.beveragewarehouse.com), both in West LA and closer to the airport.

Peychauds is probably available at most of these locations as well.
