ripvanfan
Most everyone's done it. You go do a little shopping, pick up a few things, but decide not to pick up that extra bottle of something that to this day you regret not buying. Personally, mine would Van Winkle Rye that I passed on 8 or 9 years ago that I never found again.
ILLfarmboy
I wish I would have started bunkering the hell out of WTRR 101 before It became dificult to find. Does that count?
ripvanfan
It's virtually the samething. I remember a fairly nice liquor store in east moline that closed a few years back that had ORVW 15 year squat bottles that I should have bought that I just left on the shelf like a dummy. camduncan
When I was in Bardstown last year, I eyed off a bottle of Pappy 20 for $99 and a Rittenhouse Rye 21yo (can't remember the price on it) at Toddys. That was Thursday night, whilst buying a bottle of Vintage 17, and my plan was to head back sometime before we left on Tuesday. Unfortunately sometime never happened, and I never got back to the store :hot:
smokinjoe
Texas is part of my sales territory, and I get out to Dallas a couple of times per year. I'll drive to Shreveport, to meet a customer there. On the way to Shreveport, there is a small store that had 3 bottles of slope shoulder OCPR 13 (one of my personal faves). I left them at least 4 times (though, have managed to take home a very nice haul over the years from the area ). The fifth time, I had plans to grab them. They were gone... I kick myself every time I pass that store, now.
OscarV
A lot of bottles I wish I had gotten but like everything else in life there's that haunting refrain, if only I knew then what I know now. Also I laughed and passed when Google had their IPO at $10.00 per share. Josh
When on vacation a few weeks ago, found a place with loads of Weller Cent, several '04 WTKS and OGD 114.I just got one each of the Cent & the WTKS.I'm saddest about the 114. It was $14.99. :banghead:
Virus_Of_Life
Also I laughed and passed when Google had their IPO at $10.00 per share.Oscar I think Google's IPO was more like $85 a share, but still a bargain at today's price; however from what I recall it wasn't exactly easy to get in on.As for me, I left a lot of things in SoCal. Like Joe I probably regret most the OCPR Sloped Shoulder, but also regret the WTKS Pewter tops and the WT Tributes. I thought I'd be back to those areas before moving away but when amassing 200+ bottles and planning to move out of the state I just somehow didn't make it a priority. I have thought about a road trip down there while I am off work, if it happens I'd try to collect as much as I can. Oh and I had an opportunity to get the ORVW 12 Year Old Time Rye from a foreign source, I got a few, but by no means enough - that IS my favorite whiskey ever to this point! Special Reserve
For a long time I was kicking myself for not getting a WT 12 in a gold foil sleeve that the store wanted $65+ for purchase. However, when I found some WT12 CGL last summer I quit kicking myself.
