Lab Walker
Hi all,I have some surprise funds coming soon and I need help.In PA Blanton's and Bookers are on sale. $48.99 and $42.99 respectively. I know, not much difference in price. I had an airplane bottle of Blanton's and I liked it. I don't really want to buy both, so help me decide...I am leaning toward Blanton's...thanx
unclebunk
Hey Lab! Me, I'd go with the Blanton's, though both are quite good in completely different ways. As a high octane bourbon, Booker's has a robust flavor that is interesting to experience, but perhaps not something you'll crave over time. Blanton's, on the other hand, is an exquisite pour IMHO and something you'll likely savor each and every time you drink it. You should get both at some point, but if I had to pick one, Blanton's would be it. Have fun, either way.
cowdery
If you've never had either it's easy, as the point is to try something you've never had. Notwithstanding a taste from a mini.Would you say you drink more Beam products than Buffalo Trace products? If you drink more Beam, have the Blanton's. Ditto flippo. If I had to say which one I like better I'd probably say Blanton's, but they're both very good.
DeanSheen
I like 'em both but I'd get the Blantons.
jburlowski
I'd also say go with the Blanton's... unless you're into the "maximizing the ABV thing".
ErichPryde
I would go with the neither category, and buy a bottle of rare breed.no... this is simply because I haven't had that in a while, and want to revisit it. I'm going to have to go against my initial thought (which was blanton's) and say Bookers, because I haven't had that since I didn't know ANYTHING about whiskey, and it definitely deserves a revisit. The only thing is, I'm not overly fond of Beam's wild yeast signature....
nor02lei
I would go with the neither category....I would do that as well. WT 101 or OF signature would give you 2-3 bottles for the same price. Personally I think any of this 2 are better than Bookers or Blanton’s.Leif
wildcatdon
To answer your original question,go with the Blantons...very good bourbon.
smokinjoe
Blanton's. You get a free horsey, too.
SBOmarc
Blanton's, but that isn't enough to satisfy the 10 character post rule.

fishnbowljoe
I've only tasted Booker's, but I've had one bottle of Blanton's. While both are good, I'd say get the Blanton's. Joe
ratcheer
I really like both, but I would probably always choose Blanton's over Booker's.Tim
Lab Walker
Thanx guys,As usual, when in doubt get ’em both!!! Kinda thought Booker’s was like Basil Hayden…will find out. Although I did enjoy the mini! FYI, I did grab a WT101 on a closeout deal awhile back, so that is still unopened. Can’t remember when I had a Beam. So, once the funds come in, the sale (save a buck or two) is till the end of the month. Till then, it’s another BT & RR Rye!!

cas
Thanx guys,As usual, when in doubt get ’em both!!! Try them side by side and share your thoughts on the comparison. Like most here, I would probably go with the Blantons (the horsey is the kicker), but I particularly like Bookers on the rocks. One of the few I prefer that way.Craig

TN Colonel
Gotta go with Bookers. I think Blantons is over-rated. Of course we all know about opinions.
ILLfarmboy
Gotta go with Bookers. I think Blantons is over-rated. Of course we all know about opinions.I had one very nice pour of Blanton's in a bar after which I bought a bottle and was disappointed. I've never had a bad bottle of Bookers. On the whole, I too, think Blanton's is overrated. For less money I can have other BT products that have never let me down.
