MJL
I tried to bring a couple bottles of bourbon to a friend in Germany and they dissapeared out of my bags between Dulles and Berlin. I was thinking about sending him a bottle for Christmas and wanted to know your suggestions about the best method to do so if any.

Scoots
I just brought 4 - 750's of Old Weller Antique with me to Frankfurt last month. My cousins in Germany can't get OWA, only Beam and Daniels. Each bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap, and I taped a label from an empty bottle of OWA onto the wrapped bottle. On top of everything in my suitcase I had placed a TSA Tort Claim. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/customer/claims/forms.shtmSeems to have done the trick and I went thru Heathrow and Frankfurt without any problems. silverfish
Can I ask why the empty bottle label taped onto thewrapped item - to show what was inside the wrapping? And the reason for the TSA Tort Claim form? Just to let them know that you'll be filing in case something is missing? In any event, it might be considered SOP if it works!

YesAnd the reason for the TSA Tort Claim form? Just to let them know that you'll be filing in case something is missing? YesIn any event, it might be considered SOP if it works! It seems to have done the trick, at least for me this time. I hope it works for everybody in the future! No one should have to have their bourbon stolen from their luggage!
