mgilbertva
I just finished two of my very favorites this week: Julio's 2008 Four Roses special selection and the '08 Handy. Sad to see them go, but fortunately I have more 4R.
funknik
Last night I finished the dregs of 3 different bottles: FC, WLW SR & 4R1B.I was saddest to see the FC go, that was a good one. The 4R1B is still something I'm not in love with. Four Roses seems to be something that everyone is really hot on and I'm just lukewarm -- I think it's good, don't get me wrong, but there are lots of things I like better for the price. I've been really considering picking up some of the barrel proof SB and/or Mariage, but am I afraid I wouldn't like them $70 worth (and then that you guys would admonish me for it ). I'm going to reserve final judgement until I'm about halfway through the bottle as I'm having trouble getting past the alchol right now. The majority of the bourbon's that I drink on a regular basis are 90 proofers with PVW 15 and ORVW 10/107 being the only two that are above that. Hopefully I will get used to it or I will be disappointed that I have so much GTS, WLW, and FRSB barrel proof bottles in bunker. That being said, I finished of my favorite bottle right now last night...the Binny's WL Weller 12 year. I traded a couple yesterday so I'm down to one in the bunker...have to get a couple more soon. I also finished off a bottle of Gentleman Jack last night too... independant
Killed off a bottle of OGD 114. Lucky for me it was on sale last month.
T Comp
Tonight I squeezed out the last precious ounce from my first premium bottle, a Pappy's 20, that Lost Pollito gently sold me on about a year ago. Blinded it against a just opened, Jefferson's 17 (Batch 1). Strikingly different with the Pappy's smelling and tasting lighter with more cherry and pecan. The Jefferson's has more spice and pepper thrown in with deeper toffee and wood. Love em both. Well while writing this I just poured the remains of a Barton's BIB. Damn it's delicious too. smokinjoe
Just a plain old Evan Williams black label. Not exciting, I know. But, there were several nights when this was part of a rotation with other "higher dollar" competitors, and this one held it's own every time. If you are fearful with the OWA losing it's 7 yr. age statement, just hope that BT takes care of it, as well as Heaven Hill has taken care of EW Black since it lost it's 7 yr statement. indyrider
Finishing a few 1/4 full bottles this week and can commit EC 18 to the list. I absolutely stand by this juice, even though it gets lot of flack. Completely worth the price of admission. I'll be bunkering a few of these as well as a few FR Marriage 09 in prep for that emtpy thats well on its way....

I absolutely stand by this juice, even though it gets lot of flack. Completely worth the price of admission. I'll be bunkering a few of these The EC18 is a real mystery to me. My bottle was :shithappens: and I can't imagine anyone liking it. Thank goodness I got it on sale for $22 on NH a few years back. That said, I'm still curious about it since folks like you continue to rave. I think we can chalk up the difference of opinion to the now famous inconsistent quality of that line. Some get a good bottle while others get :shithappens:. I just wouldn't pay the $35 going rate now to give it another try though. I hope your next bottle is as good as the last.Cheers! funknik
Last night I finished off my first bottle of Julio's OWA -- 11 more to go! I enjoyed this quite a bit more last night than I have the last four or five times I've poured it. This is a firm leader and belongs at the beginning of the evening -- also, it seems to get better on consecutive pours -- as DeanSheen talked about before, it's one of those that is it's own follower: from now on, I think I'll start taking multiple pours of this one before switching into a "higher gear". It took most of a bottle, but I think I've finally got this one figured out.
DeanSheen
Ahh last night I finally killed my Green Spot. An interesting pour but a bit pricey. I waited years to get my hands on this and happy that I did, I'm just not going to be filling the bunker up with them. At $90 there are many other things I'll go for first..... maybe even two of some.
