I think this is one of those cases where one knows "just enough to be dangerous."

Buy hey, at least it is Sazerac, they didn't mess that part up!

Crap! Here I thought that somehow three bottles of Saz 18 magically appeared in my bunker. Guess not. Joe

This sort of thing happens within every subject matter I've ever been interested in And I imagine every subject matter I have no interest in.

What is it with the general media, as apposed to periodicals devoted to specific subjects, that they so often muck things up?

Did you know there's a magazine about "knowing just enough to be dangerous"? It's called Modern Jackass. I heard about this on an episode of This American Life now I refer to it nearly every day, usually because I catch myself talking about something I only know a little bit about.

My favorite part of the story is the person who thought a quesadilla meant "What's the dealio?" in Spanish

Funny, same thing here: http://blogs.laweekly.com/squidink/bars/sazerac-rye-gets-good-with-liq/

Both sources are also reporting it as if it's a big deal that a Kentucky Bourbon beat Scotch when Murray has given Stagg the best whiskey title several times in the past.

In fact, Murray's best whiskey has nearly always been either a Buffalo Trace or an Ardbeg.

What I find amusing about this isin previous discussions Saz 18 has been talked about as going downhill prior to 2008 with the metal showing through.

But hey, American Beer and American Whiskey........ taking over the world!

I hope to get a bottle of that Amrut when I am in UK over the holidays. I have been wanting to try that for some time.

I am a huge fan of Yamazaki and soon I must pick up a bottle of the recently available Hibiki.

I think the scotch boys have reason to be a little concerned.

I'm drinking some of the Saz 18 right now and while I generally prefer older whiskeys, I put the Handy 09 ahead of the Saz and both just below VWFRR.

I tried the Hibiki at WhiskyLive in LA. It was a very nice easy drinking blend. They also had the Yamazaki 1984 which was fabulous, but I don't know how much they'll be charging for it.

Well the numbers on the Yamzaki 1984 is 300 bottles in US, 200 Europe and 2000 Japan. Here is it expected to go for 600+ so I wont be buying any.

The new Nikka Yoichi is running about $140 in Japan. Thats a little more in my price range though still allot of money.
