nysquire
Probably the hardest question I would ever have to answer.I'd have to take along my Pappy 20yo.That would only change if I had an old squat bottle of ORVW 15yo...
SMOWK
I'd have to take along my Pappy 20yo.That would only change if I had an old squat bottle of ORVW 15yo...I mentioned this the other day, and I'll say it one more time. ORVW 15 is the best whiskey I've ever tasted. It's too bad I drank all I had years ago...I found 3 bottles of ORVW 10/107 at a store yesterday though. That brings my total to 5 bottles of that stuff. One will be open soon. I know it's not quite the same, but I really think I like the 10/107 better than the Pappy 15. I'll let you know when I get back from XMas vacation and have some time to compare the 2. I think I've got 5 bottles of Pappy 15 and 5 bottles of ORVW 10/107. This will be one really long comparison. TBoner
This would have been tough for me a year ago. Now, though, I'm drinking less and, more to the point, drinking far less variety. I keep, pretty much, three bottles of American whiskey open. One is WT Rye. One is a bourbon chosen from the far-too-large bunker. And the third is the bourbon I would prefer to drink most every time I pour one of those bunker bottles. Indeed, it is my goal to eventually have nothing left but this bourbon:OGD 114Regards,Tim
emr454
For me, it would be a tie between WT101 and Weller SR.Eric
B3Nut
I'm similar, I'd be torn between WT101 and OWA. WT101 if reliable availability is the deciding factor (though OWA has become a bit more common on the shelves around here, not going to complain a bit!) Gillman
Hmmm. In currently available stock, I'd say probably Four Roses (regular 80 proof). It has the perfect red hots candy-like flavour with an excellent silky finish. For different reasons, a number of the Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintages come close. In bourbons no longer produced, probably certain iterations of National Distillers Old Taylor or Old Gran-dad.Gary
tommyboy38
I'll cast a vote for Old Fitz BIB....any version from any distillery.
