My bourbon trip to Sweden

So I am on my way to Sweden for a vacation with my brother. In my possession are a bottle of Woodford Seasoned Oak and an 09' GTS. These are bound for Leif (nor02lei). He has graciously offered his home for a tasting of these marvelous bourbons. Pictures and stories are soon to follow.

Matt (BBQ+Bourbon) made this possible by acquiring both bottles and should get full credit for this. :middle finger:

Now to just smuggle these bottles though customs.. and I am set. My dashing good looks and devious smile have awarded me yet another first class upgrade across the pond. I hope they stocked up on woodford minis... I plan on killing all of them

Well it appears that Leif will be getting BOTH bottles. They made it through without any issues. I didn't even get stopped by customs.

I have flown with 13 bottles before, state to state, with no issue.

I was about to suggest you put a couple LotB labels on those bottles to get through, but your method was better still!

Joshua and I found several bottles of the WR last night and I'm anxious to see how you like that one.

A couple thoughts; first, if the guys who steal those bottles keep them for personal use they are both scumbag lowlifes and saviors. Second, it's interesting that a country known for hot, powerful beer would ban high proof bourbon.

I did have the visit by Jake and his brother yesterday. They had been driving all day all the way from Copenhagen to my small town 1/3 up in Sweden. You Americans really seem to like spending time in your cars! They were both not much older than my 2 sons. It was real nice and they brought WRSO and Stagg 2009. We did pop the bottles open and tasted them and I was very, very impressed of the Woodford witch didn’t taste like any other bourbon I have had. I did like the Stagg very much as well and it was probably the smoothest one I have tasted. I did put a little water in it but when I did re taste it today I did take it neat and it tasted better that way to my personal taste. We did taste some more whiskeys as well and an interesting thing was that Jake didn’t like one of my favourites JDSS at all. The evening was nice in general and I would be glad to have some mere visitors from the forum. But if you are considering it, or visit Sweden for any other reason do not hastate to contact me long before to get some practical advice.

Two liters of Bourbon went missing from my bags between Dulles and Frankfurt last June. That just irked me as these were presents and ended up being replaced with Absolwent Vodka when I was in Krakow, Poland. Man I wish I had been able to get that Bourbon through. I hope whoever took it chokes on it.:skep:
