A bottle of ER 10\90 and a handle of Old Charter 12/90 were put down over the weekend. The OC 12 is one bourbon I really wish they still made.

Lot B went down with a double pour. Funny how the last pour sometimes changes your mind about the bottle. While I've always enjoyed the lot B, I was thinking that the proof was just not where I wanted and I've been underwhelmed of late by it. This last pour (perhaps because it was the first of the night and didn't follow another, more flavorful bourbon) was really smooth and exceptional and makes me once again a fan. I have 2 bunkered, guess I'll open one again.

They're going down like bowling pins around here. I knocked off bottles of Knob Creek, Lot B, Early Times (from 1976) and ETL, all in the last four nights. It's a man's job but somebody's got to do it.

Just killed the latest WTRB, took two tries but I got it!

If at first you don't succeed, try try again. Now you've got to go and buy another WTRB. No household is complete without one!

Last night I polished off a Stagg '09. That one went way too fast. Only 2 bunkered. Next year I'll need to grab 2 cases of this great stuff.

Yeah, James, I am squirreling that stuff away . . . I bought a case in OCT but haven't opened any yet and have been nursing a 100ml sample that a friend gave me -- I know if I open one it'll just disappear into the ether.

I killed off a Dickel #8 earlier this week, but that was more like a mercy mission. I liked that bottle when I first opened it, but outgrew it quickly. I hope I still like the #12 -- I bunkered 5 when they were still $13.

My last OWA with the AS said goodbye last weekend and a Pappy 20 was put in the recycle bin tonight. A JRPS is on its last legs and won't make it to the weekend.

This past week I've emptied an Old Fitzgerald BIB and a Evan Williams Single Barrel 1999.

Thinned the herd last night quite a bit. 2 1990 Owensboro favorite dusties Ezra Brooks and Private Cellar. These were outstanding. They have all the flavors of the early 80's Yellowstone. Both were different, but todays iterations of each belong on a different shelf below these Owensboro jewels. Find'em if you can. I have 1 more of each bunkered.

Also finished off another diamond in the rough, Benchmark Single Barrel 94 proof greatness. This won awards before it was nixed and for good reason. Spicy cinnamon and sweet corn. That was my last bottle but I know where to get more.

Now what to open in their place this weekend.:skep:

Sticking to my New Years resolution of enjoying those last few precious ounces from too many open ones. Tonight saw the end of an Old Forester Signature and W.L. Weller 12 (Binny's bottling).

Had to say goodbye last night to a good friend bottle: a 4RSB from warehouse KE, barrel 8V-4......passed away at approximately 9:35pm CST. On the brighter side though, the torch was not extinguished. Thanks to a very kind sb.com bourbon brother, it was passed on to a very fine private 4RSB bottling from Binny's.....some kinda good stuff!!!

Just eliminated a Liquor Barn SB Hancock's Presidential Reserve. I'm still puzzled by this whiskey. Both from a cost standpoint, and a market position standpoint. Oh well, it was OK whiskey at the Hi$20something I paid for it. At the normal Mid-High $40 range I usually see it...it's not worth it.

As I was getting ready to drop it in the trash, I noticed the special sticker for Liquor Barn, that gave me a smile: "Liquor Barn...The Ultimate Party Source." :D LB talkin' a little smack.

I find the LB HPR pretty good. I almost didn't get it because it was priced way lower that all the other HPR's I have seen. But for $30..... it OK.

Finished the last of my EWSB 2000. Perfectly OK whiskey but nothing special like you would expect from a specialty bottling. It will not be replaced.

Bottles of ERSB10, Old Charter 101, Bulliet, OWA and BT have all found their way to the recycling bin recently. Geez, I need to stop being so generous with the guest........ and myself.

I failed to kill my vacation bottle of ERSB 2000 this week, but I did wring out the last beefy pour from an FRSB Curtis/Hightower edition this evening.

Why does the last bit of FRSB look like only a little amount in the bottle but a hefty pour when it hits the glass?

The last week saw Binny's Weller 12, ER 101 NO, WTRR 101, and an 08 FR Mariage' all pour their last. I wonder if the garbage man is getting suspicious. :skep: Joe

Interesting. Do you know what the barrel number was on that one?
