Schenley had purchased the Squibb Distillery in IN in 1933 (Veach)

Schenley purchases the Stagg Distillery in Frankfort in 1933(Veach)

Schenley puchases the Bernhiem Distillery in Louisville in 1937(Veach)

Schenley purchased Dant in 1952(Veach)

Dant Distillery closed in 1961(Cecil via Rughi)

Dant sold to HH in 1993(Veach)

So it's likely from a period between 1961 and 1993. I'd guess bottled in IN.

However, Rosentiel seems to have sold all his Schenley holdings to Glen Alden in 1968, so I'd place it in the '61 to '68 timeline.

I have several similarly labeled 200's and 375's Dant BIB's, that show Frankfort & Louisville on the front label. Based on where I picked them up, I believe they are all of the same approximate age. All show Distilled at DSP-KY-113 (Frankfort). Bottle House jumps around a bit, though. Some show just DSP-IN-2 (Lawrenceburg). While some others show bottling at IN-2 and DSP-CALIF-14 (Fresno, CA). Most of the tax stamps are mangled, but one bottle showing the only Bottle House being Lawrenceburg, has a Made Fall 1973/Bottled Fall 1977 description.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

I do know this bottle has the TE cap and a UPC.

My best guess is that is is from 91-93.

And if it was distilled in Frankfort, it would be AA juice????:skep:

I can identify it's final resting place if it was in my stash, that's down the sink. I hate that stuff taste like cherry extract.

I have a Dsp-KY-113 and Dsp-KY-2 both bottled Dsp-KY-16 open with Frankfurt and Lousiville. Each are simple but flavorful bourbons. A tad on the hot side for everyday consumption, but enjoyable none the less. I never leave one of these on the shelf if I find them and would never dump them anywhere but down my gullet.

Well, whoever made this juice is a GOD !!! This stuff is fantastic. Much better than I expected for a 19 dollar liter. The nose has a butterscotch/citrus note. Its is incredible.

If anyone has any more of these, I'm up for some trading.....

Scott - I have a three Dant BiB's from the late seventies and early eighties - the one that is open is a wonderful pour. Thick and chewy Chocolate and Butterscotch with some soft citrus at the finish. Someone knew what they were doing.
