NYtaster
Dont flame me for this one, I know it seems like an abomination. Looking throught the cabinet tonight I found that I didnt really have enough WTRR to make a good drink and I had only a smidgen of the latest GTS. Wound up with a 50/50 mix and was very pleased, the sweetness of the RR came through and the depth of the GTS. Anyone have a great mix to share? ErichPryde
not an abomination at all. experimenting can be a lot of fun... and in fact, someone made a thread called vatting success stories that covers many of the combinations people have tried. NYtaster
I've seen that thread, I was tinking more along the lines of single pour mixes. No real thought, just throwing something together and coming up with something good or maybe bad.
ILLfarmboy
I've found a dash of WTRR 101 can richen up a pour of FR SB.A dollop of Handy can do the same for a pour of Baby Saz. (they are pretty much the same whiskey, so its like getting a 100+ proof Baby Saz)WLW can be used to improve a less than stellar bottling of OWA (primarily the '08 age stated, which I find not as good as the current NAS)A three, two, one blend of Rare Breed, RR 101 and WT Rye was pretty damn good.As you can see I don't stray very far when blending. BBQ+Bourbon
I am apparently the only person who enjoys this one, but I like a Lot B OWA (pre 07) mix.
loose proton
I tried a GTS and Laphroig, interesting. They did complement each other, but I much prefer GTS neat.I'm slow to drink the last of the bottle with all the sediment. I've started a bottle where I pour the last drops with sediment into. When it gets full, I'll decant the mix. Who knows what that monster will be like.
callmeox
I've seen that thread, I was tinking more along the lines of single pour mixes. No real thought, just throwing something together and coming up with something good or maybe bad.Since the word 'blend' has a negative connotation in the bourbon world, indicating that the product is not straight whiskey, folks here call this vatting. That's why there is a already a thread about vatting.

Slob
I mixed a little VWFRR, Handy, and Saz 18 last night. I only did it because I had a little left in each bottle. It wasn't bad.
