Zero. I just keep opening more bottles instead of finishing ones... It makes me feel better about how much I drink.... I mean seriously, all of you sound like alcoholics. :slappin:

I've had over 1/3 bottle of OEzra 101 in the past hour or so....

What size bottle?:skep:

I don't keep track, but probably 2-3. Then again, if a few friends come over, it can get out of hand!

I thought I was in the 2 bottle a month range until I looked at my records. I started keeping track of my empties in 2005 but really hadn't kept a running total. I'm actually at a 4 a month average and I know there have been a few week long hiatus since then including my current one since New Year's Day. I don't consider 3-4oz a night too much, I don't binge and have no problem skipping a day here and there. I'm currently on a weight loss regimen or "liver vacation", so it's all perspective, I guess.

You know, based on an average 5% APV for beer, and since a bottle of bourbon is almost exactly the same volume as two 12oz. beer bottles, basically if you divide the proof of your bourbon by 5 that equals the number of beers in any given bottle. For example, 80 proof=16 beers, 90=18, 100=20 and so on . . . using that equation, four 90 proof bottles a month is a little over two beers a day . . . I don't consider that to be heavy drinking.

Or am I just trying to make myself feel better?

(Even a bottle of Stagg doesn't contain as much alcohol as a 30 rack of PBR!):slappin:

Just do volume * %abv, that will give you the actual volume of alcohol, and then you can just divide by other drinks. 80 proof, 750ml is the same as 16.9 12oz at 5%

I can also buy 750ml bottles of Old Numbskull @ 11% ABV, and say "I just have 3 bottles of beer a day." Sure it comes out to about 14 budweisers, but technically it is a correct statement.

Well I tended to buy half gallons... lately I am thinking of switching back to fifths. The Half Gallons have been for Canadian though.

Actually over the holidays on two occassions I had a half bottle a nite of Ezra Brooks... not really a nite as I started at noon so that was not that bad imo. Well I thought I was going to get into Windsor Canadian but realized I like Bourbon way better than Canadian so had the Ezra Brooks instead. Was great for the holidays. I reckon I should get something more top shelfish for when I only want one drink a day, but for when you are having more than one, I don't want to drink the expensive stuff. I probably have a shot or two a day normally so guess am on par with most of u all.

I'd guess I go through 1-2 bottles a month, give or take.

I go in spurts with my drinking. There are times when I go a couple of weeks or more without drinking anything, then, I will have two or three pours a night for a few weeks. Just depends on how I feel. I would say I average about two - three bottles a month.

And I often remind my wine fiend friends, their bottle of wine at 14% abv, is the same as 7 ounces of 100 proof Bourbon.

Definitely not what I used to as a younger man......consumption has slowed as age slowly (but now more quickly) advances. Most of what I drink has now been relegated to the fall, winter and early spring months. Late spring and summer mostly finds me reaching for brews.

It depends on the size of your glass and if you sip or pound.

12.7 oz, about 6-8 normal drinks or 1 drink for Mighty Joe Young...
