Four Roses is on the MI liquor list with "Effective Date" 01/10/2010, link below,....

http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/lcc_code/sr_lcc.asp

I asked a retailer to see if he could order some on-line and it came up "inventory out".

This happened with the WT Tradition 14yo a few months ago, it was listed on-line weeks before a retailer could get any.

But this is exciting news.

If any MI people want to asked their favorite retailer to get it in here are the "Liquor Code" numbers for ordering and the minimum shelf prices.

06522 $18.97 Four Roses Bourbon

06499 $39.95 Four Roses Single Barrel

06500 $29.99 Four Roses Small Batch

When in KY last month I got a couple of 4R1B gift boxes with 2 free glasses at $29.49, should have loaded up.

But this is going to be nice to get it in MI.

Hey good news. I picked up a holiday bundle that included a rocks glass in Chicago during the Christmas trip to the in-laws in December, but I'll be glad to get it locally.

Great news Oscar! I've been waiting a couple of years for this to happen. 4R1B is one of my favorites!

The "inventory" is still out.

Gotta love how our LCC operates. Bozo must be in charge.

Bozo was a highly respected entertainer. To compare him to the folks in charge of the LCC is grossly unfair.

My sincere apologies to Mr. Bozo. Should have used Kwame instead - but that's called piling on, especially for a guy who's going be about $360,000 short in about 4 months.

I scored one today!!!

Last week I placed an order with Village Party Store in Saline for a 4R1B and I bought it today.

It's so purty. An actual 4R1B in MI!!!!! Please don't wake me.

I also saw one on a shelf today at a store I was selling/delivering A-B to.

Prospect Party Store in Ypsilanti, I left for all you Dogs, tell Sam you are a friend of Oscar The Bud Man and he'll probably charge you double.

Nice work Oscar, mine will be in the store Monday for pick up. I hope he gets 2, I'd like to open one just to try it out.

Cheers!

Cheers to ya!

I wish we could get 4Roses in Ohio. Must be the shipping charges are too high to import across the river.

I've been stopping at the distillery on trips south the few years to pick up a case. Even there they have stupid rules that you can't buy more than 2 or 3 bottles in a single purchase. so the girl in the gift shop had to do several transactions.

Gotta love the liquor laws.

Four Roses has been on the Ohio list since last summer. We can get the single barrel and the small batch here.

Buying at the distillery is on par with the Ohio price, but you can get it much cheaper at a retail liquor store in KY.

Here's the Ohio list.

Four Roses 100 = Single Barrel

Four Roses 90 = Small Batch

Happy hunting!

Thanks "Ox" I looked thru the whole Ohio list - I don't recall seeing half of these brands in my local stores. Judging by the prices, a lot of these must be bottom shelf items, and I may have missed them. But there are several that I would like to try, including the Dickle and Rebel lines. I'll look for the 4Roses. I work in the Cleveland area...maybe I'll see what I can find there.

If you want 4Roses go to Simones on Detroit near Around the Corner bar right before it turns into Rocky River. They have Single Barrel and Small Batch there.

If you want Dickel I think they have it at Minotties on Detroit in Rocky River

I saw Rebel Reserve in the liquor store on Warren in Cleveland. If you get off 90 and go south on Warren it's up there about 1.5 miles in the shopping plaza on the West side of the road.

PM me if you need more details.

I just found it here in MD at my local. All three regular bottlings where there. It definitely put a smile on my face as i too enjoy 4Roses.

Where in MD did you find it? I've only been able to find one store, somewhere around Lutherville, that carries it. And that's a hell of a drive for me.

I still have a 4R1B in the bunker, leftover from 2 I bought the last time I was there. I was really not all that impressed. Now that I think about it, there was a lot of Van Winkle, BTAC, and Willett, open, and on the shelf, the whole time it was there. That most definitely could have skewed the results.

This spot is in Harford county. I am unaware of the spot in Lutherville you speak of. Harford county would be just as much of a hike for you though.

Thanks. I'm guessing we should've done this via PM, but any onlookers in our neck of the woods will, I'm sure, appreciate the lead.

From what I understand 4 roses will be becoming available in more areas soon if it has not already. You may even see it in your neck of the woods as well.

Well, as one door opens, another one closes. I just learned today that Old Whiskey River has been dropped from the Michigan price book. Willie, we hardly knew ye.
