Hello Bourbon/Rye Drinkers

I was wondering on what is your favorite bourbon and rye that you think is the best to drink consistenetly and is easily available in your area or easily to get. (Please exclude all discontinued items, low production i.e. BT Antique Collection, hard to find in USA, limited edition, etc.). And also, please tell me why (becasue of pricepoint, smoothness, sweetness, etc.).

Here's my favs:

Bourbon: 1) Elmer T Lee - Great price and sweeteness 2) Elijah Craig 12yrs - Also great price and well balanced

Rye: Templeton Rye - Reasonablely priced and easily available thru shipment. This has to be one of the best tasting ryes I have ever tried. Tastes like Xmas spice cake even thou I hate the cake!!!

My favorite everyday pour is OGD114. It's sweet, it's spicy, and it'll knock your socks off every time. I love the strong stuff, and this is one that won't break your wallet. It's consistently good, and always under $30/bottle, usually closer to $20.

It has always treated me right. Well, besides the numerous times I ended up on the floor of the bowling alley, my parents house, my house, and in my dogs bed.

If you can't get it in your neck of the woods, please PM me. I've got some brand new empty mini bottles I bought online that are just itching to get into the tennis match. Oh, and a few bottles of OGD114 to fill them with.

Bourbon: Wild Turkey 101 just because I find it to be great. Thanks Jimmy.

Rye: Wild Turkey Rye for the same reason as #1.

These are (were) available in PA.

Wife:

Bourbon: Four Roses Single Barrel

Rye: Rittenhouse BiB

Why?

They both hit me in all the right places.

It's a tough call for me, so I'll limit it to those under $25.

EC 12

MM

OWA

I prefer bourbons on the sweeter side, and I find these to my liking. There are others I like more, but for the price, I'd go with these.

I also like Dickel #12 for a non-bourbon under $25.

I like the "current" caveat, as I find that my "favorites" tend to shift around from time to time.

Bourbon: Buffalo Trace (narrowly edging out Wild Turkey Russel's Reserve)

Rye: Wild Turkey Rye (101) (2nd place: (ri)^1)

[i need to drink more ryes. I think I can count the different ones I've had on one hand]

No brainer for me.

Bourbon-Weller 12

Rye-Rittenhouse 23 yr old

Sure hope I get to go back to Florida this year. I could use another bottle or two of the Ritt 23. Good thing I have plenty of Weller 12. Joe

I've heard a few good things about the 2000, is it really as good as I am hearing?

Bourbon: WT101 and OGD114. Both have the spiciness that I love in a bourbon and can be found for under 25.00.

Rye: WT 101 rye and Baby Saz. Both are well balanced ryes with lots of flavor and both can be had for under 26.00.

I honestly can't pick a favorite current bourbon. There just are simply too many great ones!

The rye is easy...Baby Saz. Rye flavor, galore.

Bourbon: FRSB

Rye: Have to go with Hirsch 22yr (I have only had three WT 101, RR Rye)

I probably need more help in the rye category.

Really? You're going to make me choose?

I guess since everyone else is, I'm loving the Jefferson's 17 year at the moment and the 2009 Sazerace Antique.
