jburlowski
Jay Erisman and the Party Source has debuted a new whiskey site. While it includes some scotch references for the "peat heads", the focus is clearly on bourbon. Check it out.

barturtle
As always, this site will not ship to Maryland. Is anyone willing to help me out? Please PM me.I think something questionable is going on when a site won't ship to its home state.

RamblinWreck007
From the site:95 Riviera Drive Bellevue, KY 41073Oddly contradictory: Shipping Policies In accordance to the laws of the State of Kentucky we are prohibited from shipping alcohol in any form. Our designated carrier is UPS. Currently, we offer UPS Ground service as the primary shipping method, although we will be adding various shipping options in the future.Looking elsewhere on their site, I think it means they can't ship in-state (Kentucky). I see they also can't ship to Michigan. Drat.
callmeox
Their shipping prices border on ridiculous (Julio's = ridiculous), but they don't ship to Ohio even though it is entirely legal, so it's not something I have to concern myself with. 50 bucks to ship a case of 12 bottles? Is the packing tape gold plated? Jay has picked some great whiskey, so this is unfortunate.
sku
Has anyone tried any of the BT Experimentals they are advertising. They aren't the standard experimentals.

Virus_Of_Life
Has anyone tried their single barrel of AAA? I might vaguely, very vaguely, recall hearing about it, but not hearing if it was better than the typical. And, well, Timothy, how are they?! sku
Yes. I have....and how were they?
barturtle
...and how were they? Both were fine whiskies, though the Rye in wine casks the better and more interesting of the two. The Wheater was solid, but didn't seem overly special.Get the Willett 3yo, unless you are totally opposed to young whiskies. It's very good. It's a big, youthy, interesting dram. callmeox
Thanks John, that's a bold statement too! AAA has always impressed me so if they really ship out of Kentucky I may need to order a couple, or more of those.Of course, you know what they say about opinions...I have had both and I much prefer the standard bottling of AAA 10yo. There was an off quality to the single barrel and it was a bit flat, IIRC.
silverfish
Just wanted to clarify the shipping info. I received the following reply from Jon Stiles:"We have decided to start shipping some select items. At this time, they are restricted only to our private barrel selections in both single malts and bourbons. At some time, it may branch out to include other items from our independent bottlers and other unusual items. Currently, only the items listed on the Whiskey site are available for shipping. I apologize for the confusing answer you received earlier."(The confusing answer he refers to was a "No out of state shipping" reply I received to my initial inquiry - only items listed on the special Whisky page are available for shipping - NOT "regular" items on their website.) sailor22
Shipping from that part of the country can pose some tricky legal issues. Sounds like he has possibly found a way to ship some items from a specific category of product. I understand his taking it slowly and being careful. I suggest we work within his requirements if we want this resource to continue to be available. I have long wished that I was able to order from some of the stores in that area that stocked items impossible to get here and it is exciting that there may finally be a way to access some of the best of it. Westernboys
Very nice site. I agree $50 for a case seems high but if they don't collect sales tax for out of state shipments then the bottom line price might be pretty decent.
silverfish
Thought I'd follow up with a report on the nice service I received from TPS. I ordered a couple of the AAA and a Sazerac Rye on 2/13 and it arrived on 2/17.I look forward to ordering from them again in the future!
