I'm going to Charlotte at the end of March for business conference. Any suggestions for bars with a good bourbon selection? Liquor stores? Other miscellaneous Charlotte recommendations?

Thanks!

I got to Charlotte about once a month and I haven't found a bar down there with a good bourbon selection. It's a control state so good luck with finding anything out of the ordinary...sorry to burst your bubble. :(

I had dinner and drinks at Sullivan's with friends about a month ago. Good food. Had some live umplugged style entertainment. Made for a great evening!

Here's a list of their specialty bourbons and whisky. Good luck.

I like how they listed Crown Reserve and the two JD's under Bourbon

Thanks for the input! I looked around online a bit and didn't really find much. There is some club owned by Dale Jr. called Whisky River, but I'm guessing its Whiskey selection tops out at Maker's.

Unfortunately the selectoins are mediocre at best at the ABC or at bars...however, if you have time to take a ride, you need to cross the border to South Carolina to visit Frugal MacDougals. They have a pretty good selection of bourbons. Yo uhave to look around a little because the put certain things in various cases or behind the counter but being South Carolina there is no "control" issues. MacDougles is Near the Carrowinds Theme park probably about 2o mintues or so from downtown. I get there for my work often enough to enjoy it more than the NC options that are around. Have fun hunting.

I second making a trip to Frugal Macdougals. I have found that SC has lots of good bourbons (Pappy 15 and 20, Lot B, and BTAC) but since it's not in huge demand like in other states it seems to always be in stock. My best finds were in Columbia, about 80 miles from Charlotte. Happy hunting.
