My Favorite (Basic Bourbon) Jim vs Evan vs WT

So been sipping Jim Beam White vs Evan Williams #12 vs Wild Turkey 80.

Though not in the right category, I've also compared Jack Daniels #7 and George Dickel #12 TN whiskeys today. Over the past two weeks I have started to enjoy Jack again, and have new appreciation for all TN whiskeys. Been sipping a tad bit (very little) of Johnnie Walker red scotch as well.

Summary for the day (so far), scotch good, whiskey good, but I like bourbon. I'm guessing I like the smoke in scotch when I want to take a shot. Like TN whiskey in a mix. Like bourbon to sip. Just a guess, who knows, as I've just been sipping.

I would only add that I've learned that the scotch peat / smoke prepares my palate (in contrast to a water reset), and I can sometimes pick out different flavors in a whiskey easier, after a sip of scotch.

I would like to hear some thoughts from anyone willing to list in this post, or throw me a link in this thread to another post, as to the different flavors between JB white, EW #12, and WT 80. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance.

I get something different from each of the three, but by the time I get to the next one, I can't figure out what was different, only that it was different. I've been at it since 5, and have to slow down (but will be sipping the rest of the night).

This week, every other day or so, I'll take a shot around 8, and just stick to one bourbon, and take time with it. Then maybe next weekend try a comparison again.

Lastly, at this point I'm stuck sipping the bottles I have until thay are gone. Is threre a bottom shelf bouron I missed that I should consider in the future?

Actually, Hydrogen-without-an-electron-or-any-neutron's post gives us an interesting whiskey you SHOULD add to your experimenting- Old Grand-dad 86. It's an entry level beam from a different mashbill than the white label, and is comparable in price to the rest of what you have listed AND it could be considered "bottom shelf."

Just a thought.
