catsfan
how much do you think a coach calipari bottle will be worth in 10 years? I've seen some bottles on ebay for 300 hundred bucks
nblair
Depends how much money Cats fans can get for pawning their huge satellite dishes and selling their trailers in 10 years... :cool:I joke, this is coming from a bitter UofL fan :smiley_acbt:. Definitely a cool looking bottle. I wouldn't doubt if they sell for $300 on eBay, especially for something UK related. I'm going to say the future value is based on whether or not Coach Cal wins a national championship there.
wadewood
I would say that nobody active on this board would pay more than current value of MM - maybe around $25. That said there are some fools that will pay top dollar for the same bourbon I can get for $25 - a fool and his money are soon parted....
craigthom
I don't think anyone opens these collectors bottles. They could be empty (and I've seen an "Election Day" one that was!).The fact that there is bourbon in them, though, makes it illegal for people to buy and sell them with each other, not that that stops anyone. The value will go up if Kentucky manages to win a title with this coach. And they continue to like him after that. Is there a Tubby bottle? How much is it worth?
pepcycle
The Calipari Foundation has the bottles for $49.99, empty.
kickert
In one day we got 3 calls at the distillery from people looking to buy the Calipari bottles... People aren't interested when I tell them we make our own whiskey :-)
whskylvr
I'd pay $500 for it.My buddies and I would have a great time taking turns feeding it to our pet GATORS:lol:
barturtle
That depends a lot on whether he manages to finish out his 8 year contract without getting another final four appearance vacated.
callmeox
I think that the price that you will get for it totally depends on if you can get Coach Cal to sign the special neck tag on the bottle. You know, the one that says "every school that I leave ends up getting sanctioned by the NCAA for stuff that I won't admit to doing." :slappin::slappin::slappin:
WsmataU
Well, just as a reference I have both a 1992 blue Wax signed by Pitino and Bill Samuels and a Bill Keightly bottle signed by Pitino and neither one is worth $300.
catsfan
Thats because it is pitino haha. Just kidding. What is with all the bad talking about coach cal are you all jealous of kentucky or something? Who are your alls team? I have the coach cal bottle with the ticket to get it signed and was curious how much it was worth. I saw on ebay one was on sale for 800 bucks. All the people that stood in line could have just driven to louisville no one wants the bottle there

Ask TomH. Over the weekend I picked up the menu from Maker's Lounge here in Indy. I do not mind spending the extra for the bottles (store price) as the proceeds normally go to a charity of some sort.If you are curious you can go to:www.flipshare.comLogin: crightonspam@gmail.comPassword: Emily

bourbonv
Dale is no fool, but a big Maker's Mark collector. He will get one of these bottles, but I can not see him paying hundreds of dollars to do so. With that said, I would agree with the statement of a fool and his money for those who do pay hundreds of dollars for the bottle. Then again we are talking about people who purchased empty bottles from Maker's Mark several years ago...Mike Veach
NeoTexan
Dale is no fool, but a big Maker's Mark collector. My wife would argue that you are half right. :slappin: I will get a bottle ... I always do.... I am amazed at the prices listed ( and that they are selling at that price ). You UK fans are a crazier bunch than us MM collectors!! NeoTexan
And the beat goes on:Given the excitement surrounding the release of the 2010 Keeneland bottle featuring University of Kentucky Men's Basketball Coach John Calipari, Maker's Mark is pairing with The Calipari Family Foundation to release 8,000 additional empty commemorative bottles. The CFFC is dedicated to the betterment of the lives of underprivileged children in Kentucky and Memphis, Tenn., where the foundation began. The bottles will be empty and are available exclusively from CFFC by visiting http://caliparifoundation.orgWhy empty bottles? This way, Coach Cal's foundation can sell and ship them anywhere. With nothing inside, there are no legal restrictions. Fans everywhere can get one and make a donation to his cause for kids. All the people that stood in line could have just driven to louisville no one wants the bottle there No, I'm not a hater...just experienced. I was a student at UK when Duke beat us at the Elite Eight in '92. That was the first "collectible" Maker's as far as I know. I have a decent MM collection, but I quit collecting (everything except the occasional Keeneland bottle) back when they got silly with all the NFL teams, etc. If you can buy a Cal bottle for less than $50 I'd throw one in the collection...but don't do it because you think that bottle will ever be worth anything...it won't. And 5 years from now everyone in KY will be debating about drinking that bottle or throwing it out when he lands UK back on probation. Just my $.02. pepcycle
I have something with Pitino's signature on it that might be worth a bundle. It's a stained tablecloth from Porcini's in Louisville. Of course, only the DA and Pitino are bidding.:slappin: :slappin: :slappin: :slappin:
pepcycle
Maker's has now created two scalper, scumbag, black markets. One for the bottles and one for the stupid signature ticket. The ticket is going for over $500. Go to either Craig's List or Ebay and put Calipari Ticket Maker's in the search field and see what you get. At these prices, dickheads will make 10 times the money that the Calipari Foundation does. Well Done Makers!!!If I read one more piece of crap about "loyal Maker's Fans" being the reason for this, I'll puke. This is a cottage industry in Kentucky. They arrested some poor former basketball player for selling Cats tickets that were marked up, but there's no control over reselling alcohol, which is illegal or reselling signature tickets, which is illegal for concerts and sporting events. Where's the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Nazis when you need them?(I know, its Kentucky but they don't give a damn about borders in police state PA)
