Happy Holidays to all. For those checking this on Nov. 22, I wish all of my friends in Bourbonland, both real Bourbonland of KY and cyber-land, a Happy Thanksgiving holiday as well as best wishes for the holidays to come!

This might be a fine time to remind folks to post their favorite holiday treats using bourdon under the Recipes forum. I'll be looking for them.

Of course, mine is: take one empty glass, add about four ice cubes or the equivalent in crushed ice, pour a fine bourbon over the ice, and sip. Hmmm. think I'lll whip this up for myself this evening...

Happy holidays. I'm thankful to have "met" you all.

That's "y'all" in Kentucky, my good man. For the Michter's fans among us, the West Pennsylvania version is "y'uns" (as in "you ones").

And Linda & I are thankful to have "met" (and met) you as well. It's amazing that we've only been members here since January -- not even a year yet -- and probably spend more time with our StraightBourbon friends than with any particular real ones!

As for Holiday recipes, my very first experience with bourbon was as part of a holiday treat. My best friend and I were fifteen, it was New Years Eve, and his parents were gone for the night. We discovered two full bottles of Jim Beam and a half a quart of eggnog mix. I don't think I've never been so sick. It was years (many of them) before I could even stand the smell of whiskey after that. I've since learned, of course, that it was the eggnog that did it.

AAaaaAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!

ExCUSE me! I didn't mean to imply that our StraightBourbon friends aren't "real". What I mean was that most of us have met each other only electronically.
