Thoughts on Springback Sherry finishes?

I saw that Binny's has 3 dif Springback sherry finished offerings:

• Amontillado
  
• Fino
  
• Cream

Any reviews thoughts?

They are not cheap so I wanted to hear from the experienced folks here.

I rate them in that order exactly. Amontillado, Fino, Cream. The Amontillado is a little nutty, with nice weight to it. Round I guess. Fino is a little dry, but I prefer it to the smokey sherry tires of the cream. BTW, I've got all 3 open at the S. Loop Binnys if you'd like to swing by for a taste of each.

Was that Springbank scotch whisky?

If you like sherry then you would probably like any of them. The Fino would be drier and less pronounced than the Amontillado. With Springbank's rich malty/peaty taste the Amontillado would give it a fruit-n-nuts component. I tend to like sherry finished scotches after dinner as sort of a digestif/dessert.

It's all a matter of personal taste and if you like scotch and you like sherry then the two should be a natural progression. The only down side I can see is the price versus your enjoyment of it.

If you pour a dram, have a sip and your eyes water and you hear angels sing then screw the price, go get two of each. :drinking:

My plan was to drive to Chicago with the kids this weekend but I could not get a kennel for the dog. I decided to order some scotch and have a friend pick them up at Lakeview store.

Still good:cool: These would be sweeter and fruitier. IMO, you can't go wrong with Springbank unless you skip your mortgage or rent paymnet for it. Hmmm.... I wonder if we could get a bailout?
