boss302
Although usually playing "3rd fiddle" to Midleton and Bushmills, Tullamore appears to be stepping up their game. They have recently expanded their range from the NAS blend and 12-year blend to include a 10-year blend (which I've tasted on St. Patrick's Day-- very tasty stuff!), and a 10-year Single Malt aged in 4(Bourbon, Sherry, Madeira, and Port) casks!Since I can no longer get Bushmills Single Malt, and I can only get Tyrconnel through the mail, I might take a serious look at this one... AVB
Tullamore is the second largest selling Irish Whiskey brand in the world so it really isn't playing second fiddle to anyone but Jameson's.
ThomasH
I have a bottle of the 10yr. blend and it is tasty stuff. The 12yr. is one of my favorites. I plan to get a bottle of the malt too. IIRC, I think Tullamore was recently sold!Thomas
cowdery
Tullamore Dew is just a brand, not a distillery. It is made by Irish Distillers Ltd., which is owned by Pernod, at the same distillery in Midleton that makes Jameson.
ThomasH
William Grant recently bought the brand and there is talk that they want to build a new distillery in Ireland to support its growth!Thomas

I thought Tullamore Dew was done at Cooley and Powers was Middletons #2 best seller. I guess I'm wrong?
whskylvr
Stu,Chuck and you are correct. In 1963, the brand was sold to Powers and the Tullamore distillery was closed with production moved to the New Midleton Distillery in the south, along with Jameson, Powers, Paddy and the rest of the Irish Distillers products. In 1994 by the C&C Group plc, and in 2009, Tullamore Dew released a single malt whiskey that was distilled by Cooley
