You'll get no kicking from me, Hank. I am in 100% agreement on your thoughts of the AAA 10 vs. AA BIB. The 10 yr is thin to me too, compared to the BIB. I've stated my opinion many times here, that the BIB is the best from the Ancient Age stable. Where many have pined the potential disappearance of the 10 yr (threatened many times over the years), I pine over the same fate potentially happening to the BIB. And, I'm afraid it may be, since I have not seen it in my travels to Kentucky over the last several months.

I guess I have been on an EC kick recently, as I said goodbye to both the 12 and 18 year bottles I had open this week. Regardless of what the critics have to say, I really enjoy them both and find the price to value ratio to be very reasonable.

Killed a flask of Yellowstone BIB from 1977/1983 last night to do [thread=14751]VBT#300[/thread] -- fortunately there's another behind it and some 80's 86-proof deeper in the bunker!

As buttery as mentioned in others' tasting notes.

Just killed a bottle of Blantons.Its dump date was 6-2-10 Barrel 202 Rick N0 37.It was a good pour .It had ok weight and a great mid-palate that had a flavor of baking spices ,caramel ,burnt sugar.The finish was medium in length.Overall a very nice bottle.Some older bottles I have had seem to have a little more weight.But I still enjoyed it a lot.I was able to buy it on sale for $39.00.Now I will have to find an other bottle.

Well, I did a quick review of my liquor cabinet and there are about 30-35 open bottles, of which about 15 are ½ filled or less. Time to start culling the herd. Tonight, got home from work a little early and enjoyed a final pour of ORVW 10/107. What a great bottle. Bottle A-6110. Deep, rich caramel, lots of "red hot" cinnamon flavor with hints of bitter sweet cocoa. Towards the end a distinct licorice flavor comes through. Medium finish. Luckily picked up two more bottles today, this stuff is getting harder to find in my neck of the woods.

Poured the last of a bottle of OGD114 tonight. I thoroughly enjoy the current version of this bourbon (although in full disclosure, I have never had the ND version to compare it against). For my money, this is an excellent pour that will be soon replaced.

The last few days have seen the demise of my first Makers 46, an 08 OWA and tonight an 01 Old Fitz BIB (one of the early Heaven Hill bottled and labelled as DSP 1/31 but, I'll presume, UDV distilled Bernheim juice). Must be the season of the wheat :cool: .

I told myself I probably wouldn't buy another PVW20yo (low budget), but now that it's gone I'm feeling like I'd like to pick up a couple more.

Finished off a bottle of Binny's BT 2010 release...it's the best BT I've had to date!

Three bottles hit the recycle bin tonight. First was a regular bottling of BT. Shared and loved by many friends, tasted great tonight. I always recommend it for people starting out drinking bourbon. Got home and finished a bottle of VW Lot B and the last of a PVW 15. Yum, yum, more where those came from.

OFBB 2007 and Sam Houston found a new home in the recycling bin this evening. Both were smooth as silk. Sam is something I can easily replace but OFBB 2007, you will be missed dearly.

Yesterday at the game in Jacksonville, I (along with a half dozen friends) laid to rest a bottle of 08 GTS and ORVW 10/107.

A good time was had by all.

A bottle of the current release of Weller 12 was laid to rest tonight. This was a tasty bottle and a great deal IMO at $20 a bottle.
