silverfish
I belong to a whisky forum and a member in Minneapolis posted asking about a bar that features whiskey on tap. A reply from someone with Rogue says the tap was installed at Stub & Herbs.Anyone in the area familiar with this place and/or the tap? I'd be interested in hearing how it works/tastes. The initial poster asked some good questions but I'm not interested in setting one up (which is why I didn't call either of the contact numbers in the reply) - just curious as to the experience. jburlowski
Stub & Herbs is located by the University of Minnesota campus and has been a popular watering whole for students and sports fans for many decades.
ILLfarmboy
I was cajoled into going to one of the riverboat casinos some thirteen or so years ago. I ordered a Jack and Coke. Both the whiskey and the pop was dispensed from a soda fountain gun. Weird! it was the first and only time I had seen such a set up. Since it was a whiskey Coke I can't provide any tasting notes, except to say it was a weak drink, pathetically weak.
mrviognier
I doubt that it's a 'tap' per se...more than likely a dispenser similar to the ones used with sodas. It's not an uncommon setup in bars...utilizing 1.75ltr bottles and a dispensing lines for high-volume products. That said, I'll check into Stub & Herbs later today and let you know. mrviognier
Nope. As suspected, no whiskey on tap...
