"Aw shucks" as the Cowardly Lion would say, also "ain't it the truth, ain't it the truth."

But what's that I'm hearing from the Wicked Witch Of The West?,..."Oh what a world, what a world."

How's that for 5008?

5000? Someone needs to do research on this.

Almost a legend, I saw recently that Gary Gillman is nearing 7000.

I always think of Oscar and Jono in the same way when it comes to volume of posts...

It's just that Oscar's are missing the copied links to relevant supportive material. Can you please work on this Oscar?

I must be the Turtle, I have been around longer than anybody else posting to this thread, yet have not reached 1000 posts. Maybe that because I value quality over than quantity? (except for this lame post who's only intent is too increase my post count)

...plus Oscar's posts are relevant to the bourbon discussion and there's also no Oscar Rule on SB.

When I'm feeling bogged down at work in the afternoon I will check the site to see if Oscar is home from work yet and what he has selected to consume. It is my signal that I'm in the home stretch of the day.

Yeah always taunting us with your 2:30 home from work pour while we are still stuck there. So cruel.

OK Gents here it is, today I'm having a nip of Van Winkle Lot B and yes ofcourse, neat.

Oscar.. my father in law went from the Navy to driving a delivery truck for Ortlieb's beer ("Joe's beer") in Philly till he retired. He used to take me to the Teamsters yearly party at brewery and when they closed it was held at Yuengling. My grandfather worked at Schmidt's in Philly in the brew house back when each employee got a case a week as a benefit... he always brought home the Tiger ale. Philly was a great beer town.....

Schaefer, is the, one beer to have, when you're having more than one...

Ortlieb's packed a pretty good punch as I remember.

Schmidt's was the very first beer I ever pilfered from the fridge in an attempt to "hide" it from Dad. I took the ring off the can, but kept the can attatched to the rest of the six. Hoped he would not notice...he did.

Philly was a great town for beer and a great place to grow up.

Great... but do we really want to encourage this kind of behavior?

Besides, he gets several posts every day under "What bourbon are you drinking?"

A belated congratulations Oscar! I was waiting until I thought up something clever, but then I realized that I would be waiting a long time.

I'm drinking some 09 Mariage now to toast your next 5,000!

Heh. I've been here longer than you (Member #8, Nov 7, 1999) and I have yet to break 300! :D (Silence is apparently golden: it gives me more of a chance to drink the amber liquid in my cabinet! :) )
