I have been searching but I can't find the thread that mentioned that the next batch of WTRB is going to be unfiltered.

Has anyone heard more about a release date?

Also has anyone seen any WT Kentucky Spirit bottled in 2010?

I read that about RB too but can't remember when or where. Hope that the unfiltered juice comes through some time soon.

What does the filtering process consist of? Is it just a physical filter to remove fine particulate or are other constituents removed as well? Would an experienced taster detect a difference?

This is the thread that references the new WTRB being unchillfiltered. I haven't heard anything about a release date, but I received some Rare Breed SWAG for Father's Day this year. On the packaging was the alcohol %, but it didn't match my WT-03RB. I have since thrown away said packaging, but I took this as a hint that the new release might be soon...

I'll believe it when I see it, until then I'm moving this to Premium/Specialty...

My wife bought a 375 ml and mentioned in conversation to someone that it was unfiltered. I corrected her, ( in private) and then she showed me the bottle. There it was in plain english.

No one was more surprised than me.

Is the label any different besides it saying unfiltered?

What is the Batch No.?

The filtering process just doesn't remove the char from the bourbon it also removes the fats and oils from the bourbon that add flavor. So yes you will be able to taste the difference between filtered and unfiltered bourbon. They mostly filter bourbon to make it prettier not better.

I still haven't found this anywhere but continue to search all the Chicagoland stores. Anyone from Illinois seen this around?

Believe it because Jimmy himself told me at the Sampler that it was coming.

Nothing this way. A few weeks back a four store chain here had their never ending supply of 03 on sale at $28 and I was hoping this was an indication it may be coming.

Count me in on the unfiltered Rare Breed and at $28 I would have picked up a case too. The only Rare Breed in my area is the 03 and I have one already opened and three more in the bunker.

I still haven't seen this. Anyone else spotted it?

I still see nothing but 03RB around here, but sure would like to see something new and better from the WT joint. The more I think about it, the more ticked at them I get for ditching the 8 and 12 and screwing with the 10...
