Here's the word on the next year's Parker Heritage Collection.

They have already shipped bourbon to France to be finished in Cognac barrels.

The original idea for the PHC was to have four releases, a bourbon, a rye, a corn and a wheat whiskey.

This year's release is the fourth and all have been bourbons.

Due to the popularity they are planning two more, possible three.

What? Wouldn't it just be easier to ship the empty Cognac barrels to KY?

I thought the same thing.

I wonder if they are doing it that way so that it can age in the French climate.

It will put added cost on the bottle.

Just what we need. A higher price tag on PHC.

As much as I want this years PHC, I'll have to pass due to the high price tag. Oh well.... :smiley_acbt:

Greg, have you passed on all the Parker's Heritage bottlings? Isn't the 2010 bottle the least expensive one so far?

The 2010 is about the same price as the original PHC release and much less than the two that preceded it.

I have the first release but have not purchased any more since then. With one kid in college and another ready to do the same, a shift of financial priorities takes place. I'm ok with it, my bunker is well stocked.

Really enjoying this Cognac Finished Bourbon at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans with Parker Beam and Alain Royer from France at their special unveiling.

Parker tells us is a 10 year old Bourbon, same recipe at Evan Williams, finished for 6 months in Cognac barrel. We'll have a few video interview coming. About $85 price point and out in October...

Bottle photo and other details are available now at a site where we spend a lot of time drinking Bourbon and toasting to y'all.

Thanks for the advanced reconn. PHC is one of my favorite bourbon lines and can't wait for this new generation to become available for my sheld and bunker.

All of the PHC releases I've had were most excellent. While I'm not excited about this particular release, I suppose I'd like to try it.

I feel the same way. I'll continue to try them until I become disappointed with the product they are putting out.

A post on the Heaven Hill Facebook page inquiring about the status of PHC 5th Edition resulted in this reply from HH:

"We just received our federal label approval for this amazing Bourbon, so you shouldn't have long to wait. I think I will have it in the store here by September." Lynne

Looks like we're getting close.
