Labrot & Graham President's Choice?

I've been a long time Woodford fan but I have never come across this offering from them. Googling doesn't bring up much of anything. Has anyone ever had this? What's it like compared to the regular Woodford recipe?

Although Woodford still uses the Labrot & Graham name in the background they haven't featured it in years and probably won't. I doubt there is any such product. Where did you hear about it?

There was one up on ebay recently. Check completed listings for seller "bourbonlover", or item 220675812084.

Labrot & Graham President's Choice was bottled by Woodford Reserve shortly after the distillery reopened under Brown-Foreman in the mid 1990's. I recall seeing it on the bottling line when I took a tour. (At that time, the distillery was still called Labrot & Graham. Brown-Foreman had not yet changed the name to Woodford Reserve.) I think we were told that it was a duty free offering, and it was a bit higher in proof. Otherwise, I assume, President's Choice was the same stuff as the regular Woodford Reserve they were bottling at the time; that is, bourbon made entirely at the Brown-Foreman Louisville plant. So President's Choice is something of a rarity. But as a bourbon, I imagine it is good but not spectacular.

Rare, but nothing special other than for being rare, and not current production.

Special bottlings of Woodford are rarely anything more than short-bus special.

Right, sure it isn't.

Also, "President's Choice" is a name Brown-Forman has used from time to time for special bottlings, not just from L&G. An example is here. Owsley Brown, who was BF president at the time of the L&G acquisition and restoration, was personally very involved in that project, so an early L&G President's Choice makes a lot of sense.

I have a bottle. I am out of town and can't verify, but as I recall it was just a higher proof Woodford Reserve? That was my recollection.

I remember seeing it at duty-free and/or Japan. The old school President's Choice from Brown-Forman (i.e. 50's-70's Old Forester) shows up on That Auction Site from time to time.

I just looked at my bottle. It's 100.4 proof. The carton says

"The Master Distiller of the Labrot & Graham Distillery applies his years of distilling knowledge and expertise to determine which barrels in his stocks have shown superior maturation qualities and with a little more time in the barrel will yield his very best Bourbon.

Those barrels are then set aside and reserved for a special bottling - President's Choice. These selected bottles serve as a living tribute to the craft of the Master Distiller. We believe there is not better Bourbon on the market"
