mred
Hey guys, been awhile but hello. I work for verizon and had a customer who came in the other week who drinks nothing but KG. Now ive never drank it, so i decided to buy a bottle. Not the best stuff in the world, def a shooter or a mixer, but he was telling me it was a run off from jim, then i got to reading and its a Barton product. Now i sure as hell know to stay away from Barton vodka, what is you fella's experience with this? What your idea of a better bottom line bourbon? Old crow reserve isn't bad, anything else though?? bourbonNOOG
I keep the KG in an old decanter I purchased for exactly the two reasons you listed above, shooting and mixing. I went on a camping/tubing trip this summer and filled my camping flask up with the stuff, tied it to the tube handle and let it drag in the water. It was oh so delicious and cold all the way down the river.
PaulO
You could try Evan Williams, Ezra Brooks, or some of the other Heaven Hill bourbons.
jburlowski
I'd take JBW over this any day.

I have an ample supply of Tom Moore BIB from 2 years ago and I prefer it to WT 101. I don't know exactly what bottom shelf qualities you are looking for, but isn't KG 80 proof? I wouldn't buy anything 80 proof, much less a Barton product when they have such outstanding BIB's. The VOB line is excellent and cheap. Colonel Lee BIB is also another good Barton BIB as is Kentucky Tavern BIB. Actually most BIB's are worth the cost be it HH or some others I'm sure I can't get here. Anyway if I go "bottom shelf" it's high proof.
