BrianBradford
I think either Crown Royal or makers mark had a set that included a velvet wrapped flask. I don't remember which one.

I'll definitely pick the Makers between those two. I used to like CR but I think my tastes have changed.
SMOWK
Maker's Mark comes in frosted bottles with a Christmas ornament this year. I'm going to guess it's the Crown Royal that comes with a velvet wrapped flask.

4thecrue
It's actually not that bad. I have seen the Wild Turkey rare and WT 101 gift sets too and they aren't too shabby either.I might pass on the ornament, unless it's awesome.
BrianBradford
I believe the ornament was blue with little white snowflakes or something with the red wax melted over the top half. Nothing special. Id opt for something that has use. Like glasses or a flask.

PAspirit1
Thanks. I'll definitely pick the Makers between those two. I used to like CR but I think my tastes have changed.I don't want to appear to be running down Crown Royal. I took some with me on a little vacation (to a dry town) a while back and I found myself missing the flavors specific to American strait whiskey, not disliking the CR. Parkersback
EWB is solid bourbon, and the first bourbon I bought regularly.I think it's declined since it went NAS, but I could be wrong. Either way, it's pretty decent.Oh, to get my hands on some EW BIB: does anyone see it regularly? Or ever? Is it still good stuff?

I've read here that it isn't as good now as it used to be, but then I'm getting used to hearing that about everything. The stuff we get now is made at DPS1 and bottled at DSP31, if I remember correctly.
BrianBradford
Ok, I might be doing a BIG bourbon run spring 2011. I am in talks with right now only 1 friend, about driving down to lexington, ky from beaver, pa to a liquor barn. It will be about a 6 hour drive. I am going to get 2 more of my friends to go down with us and split the gas! I figure about 30 bucks for a nice roadtrip with great friends to go look at, and purchase what is turning out to be a wonderful hobbie/lifestyle. We here in PA don't have a very big selection of bourbon/whiskies. So I will have to pick up my jaw from the floor upon walking in! I am excited! How much should I bring down with me? $400, $500? P.S. I was just informed that there might be an issue with transporting liquor across state lines. Does anyone know anything about going from KY to PA with a trunk full of booze? wadewood
Did somebody say roadtrip?!  I'm guessing California. The 7 Deadly Zins is good value Zin. The same winery, Michael David, has a reserve Zin line - one called Rapture and another named Lust. I recently bought a case of the Lust - It's a big Zin - 16.9% and fantastic.
