One thing is for sure after reading this list. Most of us are happy as long as there's some OGD around. At least Fortune Brands gets one thing right.

My sentiments exactly!!!

There is one thing which I have very definitely learned from this thread. No question about it. Next year I MUST acquire some PVW 15. This year, I grabbed 5 fifths of ORVW 10. It's wonderful, and I nearly included it in my list. It would have been my #6.

From the list of Bourbons I've has so far.

WT101

WT Rye

EWSB

OGD100

Weller Antique

I might sub one of the Russel Reserves for the WT101.

1. Blanton's - my favorite

2. Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit - my #2

3. Bulleit - value

4. Fighting Cock - inexpensive and a disticntly different flavor from 1 & 2

5. Booker's - need a high proof option

These aren't my 5 favorites, but I think it's a variety of cost, proof, and flavor I could get by with.

I'm pretty much a Noob myself and probably haven't tried more than a dozen or so as of yet, but of those:

Willet Pot Still

Weller Antique

Russell's Reserve

Weller SR

and, not strictly a bourbon

Baby Sazerac

Hey Brian, for just three, that ain't a bad three. I think you would survive quite nicely with those.

I am still working on my list. Can't seem to get it under 17 "can't live withouts"...

This one is easy for me, because my wife drinks bourbon. In the interests of maintaining Domestic Tranquility, I have to pick ones which we both like.

ER 10/90

VW Lot B

VOB BiB

Weller 12 (not currently sold in OR)

WTRB

George T Stagg

Pappy 20 yr old

Blantons

ORVW 10yr old 90

Either Evan Williams Single Barrel or Evan Williams Master Distillers

Select or Elijah Craig 18 yr old....5 is awfully tough to settle on.

This is tough. To make it easier, I limited my choices to four for everyday ($25 or less) and one for special occasions.

In no particular order...

1. EC 12

2. EWSB (a bit higher than $25 around here, but it's one of my favorites)

3. MM

4. OWA or Weller SR

5. PVW 15

I would also consider replacing MM with Dickel 12.

Tough. As far as what I've had (still many more to try) I'd choose these:

1. BTAC W.L.W Barrel Proof 12yr

2. PVW 15 yr

3. VW 12yr

4. BTAC GTS 17yr

5. ORVW 10yr 107

Man, that surprised me. And not so much the recurrence of PVW15, but its huge popularity. Going to have to pick up another bottle.

Mine:

VWFRR

THH Rye

WLW

ORVW 10/107

PVW 20

As a friend of mine once said, "Bill, you're a Buffalo Trace man." Hard to argue, with this list. That said, give me an endless supply of Rittenhouse 23 and I'd probably sub it for the VWFRR.

(Oh, as long as I'm here, the 2010 WLW is aMAZing whiskey.)

4 Roses Limited Editions (and Binny's releases which are similar)
