Is it bad, that it is only 12:20 pm and all I can think about here at work is going home at 4:30 to have a glass of BT? I'm not an alcoholic, but since I obtained my bottle, I've been excited to go home and drink it!

Happens to me all the time. There have been days when I haven't even finished breakfast and I'm already mapping out what I'm going to drink that night. Sick, innit?

Another guilty pleasure - smelling last night's bourbon glass after it's set out all night. The alcohol has evaporated leaving only bourbony goodness. Many times I'll have the last bourbon in a coffee cup, and have my morning's coffee in the same cup. You can just get a hint of bourbon flavor, with no alcohol. Makes a great eye opener.

I know what you mean, don't ya wish that it could taste the same and not have all the alcohol?

I've often thought that. But then I'd be drinking bourbon with a straw rather than in a Glencairn glass.

Great idea! I'll have to try that to start my day on the right foot.

Brian, I think you are in the beginning stages of Whiskirexia Nervosa. For any of you newer members, this has been discussed extensively in this thread. http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11206

Don't know if this falls in the same category or not, but as i'm sitting here, drinking my a glass of Buffalo Trace, I notice that there is a nat floating in my drink. This angers me on just 1 level. Not that it just ruined about 1/2 oz of the good stuff. Nope, I just picked it out and finished it like a man, but that I must have nats in the house. I must find the location of which this disgusting creature originated from and destroy the source. Maybe from a fallen cookie or marshmallow that my daughter has lost. After I log off here, I will be looking behind and under furniture. DAMN IT! :hot:

The colder the weather gets here in Indiana the more and more I find myself daydreaming about being on the couch in the evening after getting off work, starting a fire in the fire place, curled up with the Mrs on the couch (she grading papers, me reading for work), sipping on a good bourbon.

Today, my first day back at work after Thanksgiving, it was 2pm and cloudy, spitting sleet/snow from the sky... feels like the pefect entrance into December as November leaves us tonight.

Is this thread a case example of great minds think alike? I'd like to ponder this a while but I have a dozen coffee cups that need to be soaked in bourbon before morning. Peace out.....

Don - I'm not sure the shakes are normal but the cure would be a healthy pour of 70's era Yellowstone! :drinking:

If you're in a job, community, or relationship where you can't take a drink at 9:00 AM, then you might want to consider some changes.

Well I have plenty of 70's Yellowstone and a supportive job, community and relationship, so the voices can SHUT THE HELL UP.......Who said that?

I have put bourbon in my wife's simmering pot that she uses for room freshener. Makes the whole house smell like bourbon and it's tells me to go get a pour. Is this a problem???

My wife's got a wax simmering air freshener. I shall experiment when i get home. Genius!

THAT'S THE ONE. Try a hotter bulb for best results.
