I've read through some of the older posts from here about earlier batches but haven't seen any recent discussion. I recently opened a batch 29 and love it. I picked up a batch 32 today and am excited to compare.

How do these batches compare within their year?

How do they compare to earlier years / batches?

I'm not sure, I haven't tried two different batches side by side.

The batch I cureently have is No. 27 and the alcohol content is listed at 60.1%, I think some have been reported to be higher than that mark, but most seem to hang around 59%.

The A'bunadh is delicious, isn't it? ;)

There is ostensibly some variation in quality between batches, but I suspect that it's often overstated. My understanding is that Aberlour tries to maintain consistency in the expression from year to year, despite the nominal "batching" system. Nevertheless, you're likely to find that each batch has some advocate claiming it's the best one of them all. I have a bottle of batch 28, and I adore it, but I'm willing to bet that I'd love most of the others almost as much.

I've had both batch 12 and 29 and both were excellent. I've not heard any dissenting opinions on the Abunadh and my limited experience with this particular Scotch has been very positive. This is a label I would keep in the bunker on a regular basis.

Revisted my open bottle of 29, This is great stuff =]

The Party Source had it in stock so I asked TPS which A'bunadh batches they have, and they have 27 and 30. 27 is from '99 so I am tempted to grab one to have one from the different year.

I bought a batch 32 recently. It has a different labeling then the others I have seen. I haven't opened the 32 yet ... I need to soon and do a side by side.
