Maybe a predictable thread, but what are your New Year's Bourbon Resolutions for 2011?

Drink less, but better?

Fill up the bunker?

Drink down the bunker?

Give away as much as you keep?

Introduce 2 friends to bourbon?

Let's hear them.

For me, it's build a solid bunker. Or at least the ground floor of one, and also hunt really hard for dusties - one serious 10-20 store trip a week, somewhere...

To do no organized dusty hunting. Accidental hunting is fine.

I did an unsuccessful moderately organized hunt yesterday with no luck what so ever. Towards the end of it, I was thinking why in hell did I do this. Wasted my time and didn't find any bourbon that I don't need.

Accidental hunting is when your in a store for some other reason and stumble upon a find.

To drink down the bunker with regard to those bottlings that arn't favorites anymore..... and to build up the bunker with those that are....to not spend all of my spirit dollars on bourbons and ryes. That one may seem odd, but when your wife wants Margaritas on taco night and you have to explain there's no tequila in the house two days after you had spent big $$$$$$ an the liquor store, you'd understand.

I'm pretty sure there's a difference between a "synonym" and "slang".

While slang may not be typically used in scholarly writing, the only thing SB and scholarly writing have in common is the amount of drinking required:cool:

Have a lot fewer open bottles at the end of 2011.

Own fewer bottles of full Bourbon at the end of 2011.

Buy only Bourbon I have tasted and think is special.

Encourage new Bourbon drinkers at every opportunity.

Travel to visit Bourbon Friends more and invite more to visit.

Learn to make better Manhattans.

Keep experimenting until I find the perfect Bourbon to sip with a grilled steak, even if it means grilling 5 nights a week.
