Rutter
I've just won a bottle of this on ebay, will likely trade it for some bourbon but was wondering if it was worth a drink instead.

When they brought out CR Reserve, they started diverting the better juice to that.
ErichPryde
I have sampled a bottle from 1974. There's actually a presence of flavor that simply isn't there in the current bottlings. That being said, I'd rather drink a good bottle of bourbon.
tmckenzie
I would drink it. I had some from 1979 and it was great. Way better than any canadian now. Kind of citrus like. I presume from rye.
hectic1
I have a bottle in the bunker from 1959 that I plan on cracking sometime...I plan on doing a taster with current bottles of crown, special reserve, cask 16, and XR...we'll see what ends up being the best! callmeox
A fellow SB'er gave me a sample of a 60's era CR at a Fall festival event a few years back and I found to be very bourbon like with much more depth than the current iterations. I would definitely drink it.
