Bourbon gets its name from Bourbon County in Kentucky where it originated. Jim Beam and Wild Turkey, both Bourbons, are strong sellers on world markets and both sell in China. Tennessee-made Jack Daniels competes aggressively with Jim Bean across China, using in-bar sales staff to promote and sell whiskey to young drinkers in provincial Chinese cities."Ok, keep it to JD and JB at least.....hey, ship the Red Stag, Bird Dog and the rest to China...I bet they would sell huge.Double the price and they will think it is premium.http://shanghaiist.com/2009/02/19/chinas_whiskey_thirst_causing_globa.phpChina's whiskey thirst causing global shortage amid booming sales
Medicfrost
JD has a ridiculously high mark up in the Asian markets, I'm surprised anyone can afford it. It goes for double to triple the price here. It'll only be time before China starts producing its own knock-offs.

OscarV
Let us hope they don't acquire a huge taste for bourbon.....oops, too late:This is happening all over the world because bourbon so very much more mixable than scotch. The bourbon distilleries have been ramping up production for a few years now and not just for us.Also on an off note here I don't see a bourbon glut coming like others do.
