Hi,

I would like to inform you of the release of WhiskyCompanion for Android mobile devices. The database included with app has currently 21 American brands/distilleries and 53 whiskies.

More info can be found on Android Market (search for "whisky") or on www.whiskycompanion.com

Are you planning to contribute to SB.com, or just planning to spam the forums?

The app contains 2.300 whiskies from 200 distilleries in 18 countries. With only 50 whiskies from 20 distilleries from U.S., there is clearly something "missing" today.

I'm looking for a way to expand the bourbon content in the database, and I believe that the best way to improve the content is by following sites like SB.com as well as receiving constructive feedback.

It was not my intention to spam the forum.

/Jan

Still your post is commercial in content and you are not allowed to do this with out Jim Butler's permission. See rules you agreed to when signing up.

Looks cool, but the price is unfortunate as I don't pay for apps that lack a free version to try out first.

Just throwing out my $.02 here... anyone with an advanced smartphone (Android, iPhone, etc) can easily find this information and more straight over the web for free (with a qualifying data plan, naturally)

I have considered apps like these for my iPhone and found that the sleek, unified interface, while appealing, doesn't provide the same breadth of information Google does

JanKn,

Your app sounds useful. A better approach might be to contribute to the forum and to have a small, informational signature that points people to your app. I think that would fall within acceptable use...

Mark,

Point taken. Sorry about being a bit quick.
