Is anyone going to the Distill America tasting event in Madison, WI this Thursday? Most of the majors, along with many micros, will be represented. I'm told Rutledge will be there pouring FR.

This was the third year, I believe.

It was outstanding, actually. All the majors were represented, and lots of micros as well.

Many high-end offerings were being poured. 2009 OFBB, Handy 2010, EC12 and 18, FRSB... The new Bulleit Rye was being poured, which was so-so. Templeton was there, which is odd since it's not sold in WI. Koval from Chicago, KBD, Tuthiltown...

All in all a great time.

Pretty sure it is a singular tasting event. This is a great concept for American Whiskey, it could easily spread successfully to a few more venues in my opinion. Madison Malt Society backs this event, it would be cool to see some like organizatioins in smaller markets step up and host some events, I am confident there would be support for it.
