I’ve started compiling a guide into the art of making whiskey, most notably bourbons and scotches. People invest a lot of time in their wines. I know they do the same for whiskey, but I’ve just recently begun visiting distilleries and reading about the process. I’d like to know more than the basic “roast malts in kiln, soak with grain, distill, age,” and see more detailed how-tos and technical stuff. I find it all very interesting. I was hoping members of this forum might know of some great books or websites I could reference.

Thanks everybody!

Oh, and this is what I have so far but it’s only a couple of pages:

Wow, thanks Kickert. I found the first two books you listed and they're a wealth of info.

Good to meet you too Squire. I signed up last week so i've just been reading and answering post every now and then. Thought I'd start my own this week. I've read a few of those, Malt Advocate & Whiskey Magazine. They have some of the info I'm looking for, but there's a lot more info to sort through while the books are more spot on. I'll have to check out the other ones you listed :)

Thanks!
