I am taking a long afternoon drive out of Huntsville up to Chattanooga down to Atlanta then coming back through Rome to home.

I was hoping some of the long time members here would know some of the must go stores(smaller ones) through these cities. I was hoping to do so in next week instead to give this current Van Winkle supply to hit stores but I am not sure exactly when they will truely be shipped. Don't know how many of you have been seeing a recent supply hit or not.

Hoping to get some Weller 12, VW10/107, 15, 20 and 6 bottles of EWSB2000 from my Atlanta supplier along with 2 bottles of HW Rendevous.

Not to be pessimistic, but you won't find any Van Winkle in or around Chattanooga. All of the stores claim they don't get much because most of it is sent to the restaurants in town. You might come across a lone bottle of Lot B or 10/90, but that's about it. There are some 23's floating around the city. I know of two, but they're priced around $175-$200. I've never seen a Weller 12 in these parts. You can get the Rendezvous almost anywhereand if you don't have enough EWSB, the 2000 and 2001 can be found almost anywhere as well. Let me know if you need suggestions.

Knoxville is about 2 hours north-east but if you have the time go to;

McScrooge's

307 N Peters Rd

Knoxville, TN 37922

I have never been there but people here that have, rave about it.

I have had some of their private selections and they are all excellent.

Again, not really on your route, but Murfreesboro, TN has some very well stocked stores with plenty of Stagg and Handy and Lot B.

I've pretty much cleaned out the dusties in Dalton, GA, but there are about 8 liquor stores in town with good supplies of the standards, including OGD 114 which I can only get in GA. Lots of high end WT and Willet Pot Still and PHC, that sort of thing. No Van Winkle a-tall, if that's what you're looking for. Certainly nothing you can't get in Atlanta.

I'd buy both at that price. $257.99 at my local. It is still sitting there.

I'm going through Chattanooga in about 3 weeks. I may have to convince the wife to make a couple detours while we are there.

McScrooge's in Ktown is a nice store to purchase bourbon. Most sales persons do have bourbon knowledge, and if the bottles of barrel strength Four Roses that are bottled for McScrooge's are still there, I would recommend them highly. I bought one at Christmas and enjoyed it immensely. It was one of the best tasting bottles I've had. They may still have some bottles of Jefferson Reserve (the old Stitzel Weller juice) in the "glass room." I got one of those at Christmas too, but liked the barrel strength Four Roses better. (I was shocked-I really thought the Jefferson would kick the Four Roses' tail).
