Another local liquor has a Rare Breed Gift Set from the 1990s. No turkey on the label and two glasses for $37. I have several current bottles and wonder if the difference is worth getting this bottle.

1995 was a primo bottling for Kentucky Spirit so I would have bought that RB too.

I have a 1996 that is one million times better than the "current" WT-RB-03. It's also superior to both versions of the 1991 Rare Breed. If you come across any "smooth top" 03-RBs, you might want to consider picking those up as well, if you are a fan of Rare Breed.

I have a 99 that is ok, but not as good as the last 03 I got. The mid 90s is what you want to aim for.

99 is the one I always griped about and my buddies all told me I was crazy.

I haven't had anything except excellent before or after, though, I'm told the later releases of 03 (are there three or four different 03's now?) are not worthy of the Rare Breed reputation.

Hear hear.

Or as they used to say in the olden days,...

"Hear all ye good people!

Hear what this brilliant and eloquent speaker has to say!"

Went ahead and got it. Says Batch W-T-01-95.

I have a 95 open right now 02-95 and the first half went down rather quickly due to its deliciousness. An 01-93 was even better though with a bit more thickness and rum overtones. If you haven't cracked it open yet I'd make sure you have a spare bottle or at least a spare cork as a crumbled cork is common. EWSB cork caps fit good and tight in the RB bottle.
