Whatcha got, who's ordered it?

Ive tried to search as much as I can on here but just small bits and pieces. I have not tired any of the Willett's in the white bottles fyi. Better than the pappy 20's and jefferson 17's of the world? For $99 I want to make sure I am making the right decision with either this or another bottle of pappy 20 on reserve on this next trip. As always thanks guys.

Thanks

I have one of the 8 year olds- its good- a lot of spice.

I read on here a few places that the 13 year barrel #3665 is supposed to be amazing.

I know jdodso3 bought some of the 17 year a while back (both from party source and shoppers vineyard), but I'm not sure if he tried it yet or if they're just bunkered.

General nervosa advice: if your stressing on price just buy whatever (other) bottles you know you like. Your expectations may already be to high for enjoyment.

Not stressing, just would not like to get a $50 taste bottle for $100. If its going to be somewhat of a disappointment then ill just go with what I know.

I've purchased to and I have been pleased with it so far. Takes a bit to open up once the air in the bottle has some time to do it's thing. Few weeks open and I'm enjoying it.

Sorry - don't have any other tasting notes right now.

I know jburlowski speaks well of it

One can pay a lot for a bottle of whisky, or wine or cognac for that matter, and then determine it wasn't worth the price. My policy is to buy without expectation and if I'm pleasantly surprised, fine. If not, then I know not to buy again.

Since tase is subjective, what does a 50 dollar bottle taste like to you?

Rock Hill Farms is a $50 whisky for me though I realize part of that goes for the bottle.

An old rip van winkle 10/107 is a $50 bottle to me.

Both are worth more than their typical shelf price of $35 - 45, this is true.

I have a bottle as well but have only had it once. It was good overall, pretty smooth but I wasnt blown away by it at the time. I will have to give it another go soon as I've had it open for a few weeks now. It took me a few times to really warm up to the PHC10 as well but when I did I was very impressed.

No, I cut them both down a bit with water. I didnt measure exactly, just guessed. I try to cut them down to around 105-110 or typically the alcohol overwhelms the flavors for me. I think the first few times I may have cut the PCH down a little too much.
