Hello,

I'm headed down to Ohio for a funeral tomorrow morning. On my way back on Sunday, I'd like to pick up a bottle of JTS Brown BIB (one of my favorite cheapies).

I'm headed from Toledo to Youngstown along I-80/90. Does anyone know of a well-stocked liquor store along the way that carries JTS Brown?

Bonus question: does anyone know a place to get REAL beef jerky somewhere between Lansing and Youngstown? I don't think Jack Links will keep me happy if I'm driving that much.

I'm not so sure that there is any JTS Brown BIB left in Ohio. I haven't seen any in a while. You'll want to hunt on Saturday as the liquor stores here are closed on Sunday. Not familiar with any liquor stores along your route. You might look up some stores in the Toledo phone book and call ahead. One really good liquor store in the Youngstown area is Creekside Beverage located in Boardman. They are probably as good a store as any in Ohio. Good Luck!

I've seen JTS Brown in Mansfield as recently as the last year, and not in a particularly well-stocked store. I've only ever seen it in handles, which sometimes are in a different location.

There are many stores open on Ohio on Sunday, but I am not familiar with the Turnpike corridor to I can't really help there.

Well, by dumb luck, I stumbled upon a store in Youngstown that not only had 750ml bottles of JTS Brown BIB, but had it on sale for 10.40/bottle. I bought two.

Oddly, it was the only store I went to, as I was in a hurry to get home.

Thank you all for your help!

Awesome. Glad you were able to snag what you needed in your trip here.

JTS Brown is kind of peculiar in that it is usually always around somewhere in the state, but never in all 3 of the most popular sizes in the same place or at the same time. I don't think I have seen more than 2 of the 3 common bottle sizes in the same store or even my general area at the same time!

I'd never even seen JTS Brown until a few months ago when I came upon the 80 proofer in Chicago and Milwaukee. I'll be doing my own hunt for the BIB on my drive through Ohio on the way to New York this summer.

I was pleased to see that Binny's has the 80 but disappointed that they don't have the BIB. I was told it was hard enough to get the 80. I can't vouch for the 80 but the BIB is very good for the price.

I had the JTS80 about a year ago and my opinion of it was not high. I used most of it for an "apple pie" (cinnamon, apples, etc.) infused bourbon.

I think it's crap.

But a lot of SB.com'ers love the low price point.
